Fits Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1" SM-T580 and replaces OEM battery EB-BT585ABA.
Delivers 7300mAh at 3.8V — restores full charge capacity on the original Li-Polymer cell.
Connector seats flat into the tablet's battery slot with mechanical locking tab engagement.
We cycled the pack on SM-T580 hardware; BMS accepted charge protocol without fault codes.
After installation, run one full discharge to automatic shutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the fuel gauge IC calibration against the new cell and resolves the inaccurate percentage display that appears after a swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 2016 — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (EB-BT585ABA)

This is a 3.8V, 7300mAh Li-Polymer battery for the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 2016. It fits SM-T580 and SM-T585 variants, covering both the WiFi-only and TD-LTE models. OEM part numbers EB-BT585ABA, GH43-04628A, and EB-BT585ABE all cross-reference this cell.

  • SM-T580 and SM-T585 compatibility: Both models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and charge IC handshake. The BMS in this cell communicates with the same fuel gauge logic across the WiFi and LTE board variants — no firmware conflict.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on an SM-T580 unit. The charge IC accepted the new cell on first connection, BMS protection tripped correctly at low-voltage threshold, and the tablet completed a full charge cycle without error flags.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration after installation: After fitting, run the tablet down to automatic shutoff — do not force-power-off — then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This gives the fuel gauge IC a full reference cycle against the new cell's actual capacity curve and clears the inaccurate percentage display that appears after a swap.

Galaxy Tab A 10.1 shutting down at 15–25% remaining after battery swap

This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's voltage curve. The new cell hits a voltage cliff under combined display and WiFi load before the percentage readout reaches zero. The tablet interprets this as a low-voltage emergency and cuts off. One full discharge-to-shutoff followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% resets the gauge reference. After that cycle, the reported percentage tracks correctly against actual cell voltage.

Fast charging not available after fitting the replacement cell

The Samsung adaptive fast charge protocol requires at least one completed negotiation cycle before the charge IC flags the new cell as trusted. On first connection, the controller defaults to standard 5V charging as a precaution. Plug in the original Samsung wall adapter — not a third-party charger — and allow the first full charge cycle to complete without interruption. Fast charge becomes available from the second cycle onward once the adapter and cell have completed handshake verification.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Galaxy Tab A 10.1 shows a completely different battery percentage after I put in the new battery — is something wrong with the cell?

Nothing is wrong with the cell. The fuel gauge IC on the SM-T580 and SM-T585 board is still calibrated to the voltage curve of the old, degraded battery. It reads the new cell's voltage and maps it to the wrong percentage. Run the tablet down to automatic shutoff without force-powering it off, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. That single full cycle gives the gauge a new reference and the percentage readout corrects itself.

The tablet feels warm around the back while charging after the battery swap — should I stop?

That warmth is normal during the first few charge cycles on a new cell. The charge IC is characterising the new cell's internal resistance and adjusting current accordingly, which generates some heat. Surface temperature should stay below 40°C to the touch. If it becomes hot enough to be uncomfortable or the tablet shows a temperature warning, disconnect and check that the connector is fully seated — a partially connected cell can cause the charge IC to misread impedance and over-drive current.

The percentage drops fast from 100% but then slows down — the reading seems off across the whole range, not just at the bottom.

This is fuel gauge drift — the IC lost its calibration reference when the old cell was removed and has not yet built an accurate model of the new cell's discharge curve. The percentage readout is interpolating from incomplete data, so it reads high early and corrects mid-cycle. One full uninterrupted discharge to automatic shutoff, followed by a complete charge to 100% using the Samsung wall adapter, gives the gauge a full end-to-end voltage map. After that cycle, the percentage tracking stabilises across the full range.
