Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Vodafone Tab Prime 7 / VFD-1400 — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (TLP058B2)
This is a 3.85V, 5500mAh (21.18Wh) Li-Polymer battery for the Vodafone Tab Prime 7 and VFD-1400 tablet. It replaces OEM part TLP058B2 directly. Fit this battery when the original no longer holds a useful charge or causes unexpected shutdowns.
- Tab Prime 7 and VFD-1400 compatibility: Both model numbers refer to the same hardware platform. They share the same connector pinout, BMS handshake protocol, and 3.85V charge termination voltage — one battery covers both.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the TLP058B2 replacement through charge and discharge cycles on the Tab Prime 7 platform. The BMS accepted the cell, charge termination triggered correctly at full voltage, and no fault flags appeared during the test.
- Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: After fitting this battery, run the tablet down to automatic shutoff, then charge it in one uninterrupted session to 100%. This forces the fuel gauge IC to recalibrate against the new cell. Skip this step and the percentage display will read against the old cell's wear profile.
Tablet shutting down at 15–25% after battery replacement
The Tab Prime 7 draws combined load from the display backlight, Wi-Fi radio, and processor simultaneously. Under that load, a freshly fitted cell with an uncalibrated fuel gauge hits a voltage cliff that the OS misreads as a low-battery emergency. The tablet shuts down even though cell capacity remains. One full discharge-to-shutoff cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% resets the fuel gauge IC and eliminates false shutdowns. After calibration, the cutoff should occur at or below 3.5V cell voltage.
Fast charging unavailable after fitting the replacement battery
USB-PD negotiation on the Tab Prime 7 depends on the charge IC reading the new cell as accepted after at least one completed charge cycle. Until that cycle runs, the charge controller defaults to standard 5V input and declines higher-voltage negotiation. Plug in with the original charger and allow one full charge from low to 100% without interruption. After that cycle completes, USB-PD negotiation resumes and fast charging becomes available again.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Vodafone Tab Prime 7 shows a completely different battery percentage after I put the new battery in — sometimes jumping up or down 20% at random. What's causing this?
The fuel gauge IC on the Tab Prime 7 stores calibration data from the old cell, including its wear curve and internal resistance profile. A new TLP058B2 cell has different characteristics, so the IC reads voltage against the wrong reference and reports inaccurate percentages. Run the tablet down to automatic shutoff, then charge it uninterrupted to 100% — one full cycle resets the calibration. After that cycle, percentage reporting should stabilise and track accurately.
The Tab Prime 7 is noticeably warm around the back panel while charging the new battery. Is the charge IC working correctly?
Warmth during the first few charge cycles on a new Li-Polymer cell is normal. The charge IC negotiates current acceptance with the fresh cell and runs at slightly higher internal dissipation until the cell's impedance settles. We recorded the same warmth on the bench during initial cycles — it reduced after two to three full charges. If the tablet becomes hot to the point of discomfort or the charge cycle stops before 100%, disconnect and check the charger output voltage matches the rated input on the device.
My Tab Prime 7 percentage drops noticeably faster from 100% down to around 80% compared to how it behaved with the old battery. Is the new cell faulty?
This is fuel gauge drift, not a cell fault. The gauge IC is still running against stale calibration data from the previous battery and over-reports charge at the top of the curve. The cell itself is delivering capacity — the reported number just compresses early. Complete one full discharge to automatic shutoff followed by a single uninterrupted charge to 100%. That cycle forces the IC to re-map the new cell's voltage curve, and the percentage drop from 100% should normalise after that.
