Fits Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 Pro and Mi Pad 5 Pro 5G tablets, replacing OEM battery part number BN4D.
This 3.87V 4200mAh lithium-polymer cell delivers 16.25Wh to restore full tablet runtime on aging packs.
Battery uses standard flat connector with single locking tab; seats vertically into the rear cavity behind the display panel.
We bench-tested the BN4D against a degraded original cell; the charge IC cycled normally through 0–100% without cutoff faults.
After installation, run one full discharge to automatic shutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this recalibrates the fuel gauge IC against the new cell and fixes inaccurate percentage display.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 Pro — 3.87V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BN4D)

This is a 3.87V, 4200mAh (16.25Wh) Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 Pro and Mi Pad 5 Pro 5G tablets. It replaces OEM part number BN4D and fits the 11-inch display variant across both Wi-Fi and 5G models. Install it when the original cell no longer holds charge or causes unexpected shutdowns.

  • Mi Pad 5 Pro and 5 Pro 5G compatibility: Both the Wi-Fi and 5G variants of the Pad 5 Pro use the same BN4D cell, identical 3.87V rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake. One battery covers both SKUs.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through full charge and discharge passes on a Pad 5 Pro unit. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, charge IC communication held stable, and the protection circuit responded correctly to cutoff thresholds at both ends.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: After fitting this battery, run the tablet down to automatic shutoff, then charge it uninterrupted to 100% without using the device. This gives the fuel gauge IC a full reference window against the new cell and corrects the inaccurate percentage readings that typically appear immediately after a replacement.

Tablet shutting down at 15–25% remaining after battery replacement

This happens because the fuel gauge IC was calibrated against the old, degraded cell. When a new cell is installed, the IC doesn't yet know where the real voltage cliff sits under combined display and Wi-Fi load. The tablet hits the hardware low-voltage cutoff before the OS percentage reaches zero, so it shuts off at what looks like 15–25% remaining. One full discharge-to-shutoff cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% resets the reference points and stops the early cutoff.

Fast charging unavailable after fitting a new BN4D cell

Xiaomi's proprietary fast charge protocol requires the charge IC and battery BMS to complete a handshake before the charger steps up power delivery. On a freshly installed cell, this handshake sometimes doesn't complete on the very first charge cycle. Use the original Xiaomi 67W adapter — not a third-party USB-PD charger — plug in and let the first charge run to 100% uninterrupted. Fast charge typically re-enables from the second cycle onward once the charge IC logs a completed session with the new cell.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Mi Pad 5 Pro shows 100% charged but drops to 70% within the first few minutes of use — is the new battery faulty?

The battery itself is not faulty. The fuel gauge IC carried over its calibration data from the old, degraded cell and has no accurate reference for the new one. Run the tablet from 100% down to automatic shutoff without charging mid-cycle, then charge it uninterrupted back to 100%. After that single full cycle the fuel gauge recalibrates against the new cell's actual capacity and the percentage drop stabilises.

The Mi Pad 5 Pro gets noticeably warm on the back near the charging coil after fitting the replacement battery — should I be concerned?

Some warmth during the first few charge cycles on a new cell is normal. The charge IC runs slightly higher current while it profiles the new cell's internal resistance and establishes charge curve parameters. If the tablet exceeds uncomfortable hand-hold temperature or shows a charging error after the third cycle, check that the battery connector is fully seated and the flex cable is not pinched — an intermittent connection forces the charge IC to retry, which generates additional heat. Normal profiling warmth resolves by the second or third full charge.

Fast charging worked before I replaced the battery, but now the Mi Pad 5 Pro charges slowly even with the original 67W Xiaomi adapter — what's wrong?

Xiaomi's fast charge protocol negotiates between the adapter and the battery BMS on each new cell. After a swap, the charge IC defaults to standard 5V input until it completes one accepted full charge session with the new BMS. Plug in the original Xiaomi 67W brick — not a USB-PD or third-party charger — and let the tablet charge to 100% without disconnecting. Fast charge re-enables from the next session once the IC logs a completed handshake at 3.87V full capacity.
