Fits ZTE V9, V9 Light Tab, V9e, T9 tablets — replaces OEM part Li3734T42P3hC86049 and SBC791.
This 3.7V, 3400mAh cell delivers 12.58Wh — sufficient for full-day browsing and media use on the V9 platform.
Connector attaches flat to the internal charge port with no locking tab — slides straight into the battery slot.
We bench-tested the BMS on a V9 unit; fuel gauge IC initialized correctly after first full charge cycle.
After installation, run one complete discharge to automatic shutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — resets the fuel gauge against the new cell and prevents inaccurate percentage display.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

ZTE V9 / V9 Light Tab Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (Li3734T42P3hC86049)

This is a 3.7V, 3400mAh Li-ion battery for the ZTE V9 tablet series. It fits the V9, V9 Light Tab, V9e, and T9, replacing part number Li3734T42P3hC86049 (also cross-referenced as SBC791). Install it when the original cell no longer holds charge or fails to power the tablet through a normal session.

  • V9 series compatibility: The V9, V9 Light Tab, V9e, and T9 all share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — that is why a single cell covers the full group. Swapping to a different-series battery will trip the protection circuit.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on V9 hardware. The BMS accepted the charge sequence without fault flags, and cell voltage held within the expected window across the full discharge curve.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: After fitting this battery, run one full discharge to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This forces the fuel gauge IC to recalibrate against the new cell and clears the inaccurate percentage readings that commonly appear in the first few cycles after a replacement.

ZTE V9 shutting down at 15–25% remaining

This happens when the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old, degraded cell. The reported percentage does not match the actual voltage of the new cell, so the tablet's low-voltage cutoff triggers earlier than expected. Running the display and Wi-Fi simultaneously increases current draw and accelerates the voltage drop, making the cliff steeper. Discharge fully to automatic shutoff once, then charge to 100% without interruption — the IC resets its reference points and the shutoff threshold shifts back to the correct level.

Fast charging not available after fitting a new cell

The ZTE V9's charge controller uses a negotiation sequence at the start of each charge session to decide whether to allow higher current. On a freshly installed cell, this handshake sometimes defaults to standard rate until one complete charge cycle has been accepted. Use the original ZTE charger and cable — third-party accessories can fail the negotiation entirely. After one full charge cycle completes normally, the controller recognises the new cell and fast charge availability should restore.

Frequently Asked Questions

My ZTE V9 shows 40% battery but just shuts off without warning — is the new battery faulty?

The battery is almost certainly fine. The fuel gauge IC inside the tablet was calibrated to the old, worn cell and its voltage curve no longer matches the new one — so the percentage reading is wrong and the low-voltage cutoff fires too early. Run a full discharge to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. That single cycle resets the IC's reference and the early shutoff stops.

The battery percentage on my ZTE V9 is jumping around or dropping faster than it should from 100% — what's causing that?

This is fuel gauge drift — the IC that tracks charge state was trained on the old cell's degraded discharge curve, not the new one's. The numbers look unstable until the IC has a fresh reference point to work from. Do one complete discharge to shutoff followed by a full uninterrupted charge to 100%. After that cycle the gauge reads against the correct curve and the percentage stabilises.

My ZTE V9 feels warm near the charging port while the new battery charges — should I stop?

Mild warmth during the first few charge cycles on a new cell is normal. The charge IC is working through a slightly higher resistance handoff as it calibrates current delivery to the fresh cell. If the tablet becomes hot to the touch or charges for more than three hours without reaching 100%, unplug and check that you are using the original ZTE charger — third-party adapters can push incorrect voltage and cause the charge IC to work harder than it should.
