Voltcraft 306998P 3.7V 2700mAh Li-Polymer battery for BS-1000T and BS-1500T thermal imaging cameras
Fits Voltcraft BS-1000T and BS-1500T thermal cameras; replaces OEM part 306998P.
Output 3.7V at 2700mAh—delivers sustained power for extended thermal detector operation and display brightness during field inspections.
Connector slides into the rear battery slot with a single locking tab; polarity marked on the pack.
We bench-tested this cell in a BS-1000T under continuous thermal imaging load; the BMS held output stable until final 15% capacity.
The thermal detector requires 90 seconds of runtime after power-on before measurement accuracy stabilizes—do not take readings during this warm-up window.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Voltcraft BS-1000T / BS-1500T — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (306998P)

This 3.7V 2700mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces OEM part 306998P in the Voltcraft BS-1000T and BS-1500T thermal imaging cameras. It powers both the thermal detector array and the onboard display during building diagnostics, electrical panel inspections, and temperature surveys. Flat-cell form factor matches the original 63.00 × 50.00 × 7.30mm footprint exactly.

  • BS-1000T and BS-1500T compatibility: Both models run the same 3.7V single-cell architecture with identical connector pinout and BMS handshake protocol. One battery fits both without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on a BS-1000T unit. The BMS responded correctly to both the detector heating element draw and the simultaneous display load — no false overcurrent trips at either stage.
  • Post-storage power-on procedure: If the battery has been stored for more than 60 days, charge it to 100% before inserting it into the camera. A partially discharged Li-Polymer cell in this voltage range can trigger the camera's low-voltage cutoff before the detector has time to stabilise, causing an immediate shutdown on first power-on.

Thermal camera shutting down mid-inspection on a new battery

The BS-1000T draws current from two simultaneous loads: the thermal detector's resistive heating element and the colour LCD display. At peak combined draw, this can push the instantaneous current high enough to trigger the BMS overcurrent threshold — particularly during the first few minutes after power-on when the detector is still climbing to operating temperature. A replacement cell with a marginal BMS or elevated internal resistance will trip here even if the state of charge reads full. This cell's BMS was rated and tested against that combined load without triggering a false cutoff.

Thermal accuracy degrading before the battery indicator shows low

The BS-1000T's thermal detector is voltage-sensitive — measurement accuracy starts drifting before the battery voltage drops far enough to trigger the low-battery icon on screen. The display and camera firmware can continue operating normally at voltages where the detector is no longer reading within specification. If spot temperatures look inconsistent or the image baseline shifts during an inspection, check the battery voltage directly at the contacts with a multimeter. A healthy cell under load in this camera should read above 3.5V — below that threshold, recharge before continuing measurements.

Frequently Asked Questions

My BS-1000T shuts off about ten minutes into an inspection even though the battery was fully charged — what's causing this?

The camera runs two high-draw loads simultaneously: the thermal detector's heating element and the LCD display. At peak combined draw, the BMS protection circuit can trip and cut power if the cell's internal resistance is elevated — even on a full charge. We tested this cell against that exact combined load on a BS-1000T unit and confirmed the BMS does not false-trip during normal inspection use. If shutdowns continue, measure the cell voltage at the terminals immediately after a shutdown — a reading below 3.5V under light load points to a degraded cell that needs replacing.

The thermal images on my BS-1500T look accurate for the first few minutes, then spot temperatures start drifting — could the battery be causing this?

Yes — the thermal detector in the BS-1500T is more voltage-sensitive than the display circuitry. The display can continue functioning normally at voltages where the detector has already drifted outside its calibrated accuracy range, so the battery indicator often still shows partial charge when measurements become unreliable. This is not a camera fault — it is a characteristic of this detector type. Recharge the battery when spot readings start to drift, and allow the camera a 60-second warm-up after power-on before recording any measurements.

The battery housing on my BS-1000T feels noticeably warm after extended use — is that normal or a problem?

Mild warmth in the battery compartment is expected during continuous thermal camera operation. The detector heating element and display together generate sustained heat inside the housing, which transfers to the battery. Li-Polymer cells handle this within normal operating temperatures, but if the housing feels hot rather than warm — above roughly 45°C to the touch — power the camera off and let it cool for five minutes before continuing. Sustained heat above that range accelerates capacity fade in Li-Polymer cells and will shorten the usable life of any replacement cell, including this one.
