Fits Hollyland Mars 4K transmitter and receiver units, replaces OEM part HL-NP550.
7.4V 2000mAh Li-ion cell delivers 14.8Wh — sustains concurrent transmit and DSP processing without mid-stream voltage sag.
Connects via proprietary Hollyland smart connector; verify tab orientation before inserting into transmitter battery slot.
We ran this pack through full transmit-mode discharge on Mars 4K hardware; BMS held stable voltage curve under sustained RF draw.
On first installation, reseat the battery once after power-on if the transmitter shows low-battery indicator immediately — Hollyland firmware requires a full contact cycle to register new cell voltage baseline.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Hollyland Mars 4K / Mars 400S Pro / Solidcom C1 Pro — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (HL-NP550)

This 7.4V 2000mAh (14.8Wh) Li-ion battery replaces the HL-NP550 cell used in Hollyland wireless video transmission systems including the Mars 4K, Mars 400S Pro, Mars 300 Pro, and Solidcom C1 Pro. It fits the transmitter and receiver units used in professional video production. Voltage and form factor match OEM spec at 70.80 × 38.50 × 21.00mm.

  • Mars 4K and Mars 400S Pro shared platform: These units run the same 7.4V power rail and use the same battery bay connector, which is why one cell covers the full lineup. The BMS handshake across these models uses the same charge termination protocol — the replacement triggers charge complete at the same threshold as the factory cell.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through transmit-active load conditions on the Mars 4K. The BMS held voltage above the low-battery cutoff point without unexpected shutdowns, and the protection circuit responded correctly to overcurrent during peak DSP and RF transmit draw.
  • Cold-weather transmit tip: Li-ion capacity drops noticeably below 5°C. On outdoor shoots in cold conditions, keep the spare battery in an inner pocket until the moment of swap — a cold cell can trigger the low-battery warning well before actual depletion, cutting transmission early.

Voltage sag under combined RF transmit and DSP load on the Mars 4K

The Mars 4K draws simultaneous current for its RF transmitter, video encoder, and DSP stack. This combined load creates brief current spikes that can push a degraded or counterfeit cell below the BMS cutoff threshold, causing sudden shutdowns mid-transmission. A correctly rated 2000mAh cell maintains enough internal capacity headroom to absorb those spikes without triggering protection. If the unit shuts off under full transmit load, check resting voltage first — a healthy cell should read 7.4–8.2V at rest before load is applied.

Receiver fails to sync after swapping the transmitter battery

When the transmitter loses power — even briefly during a battery swap — some Mars series receivers drop the paired link and do not automatically re-establish it. This is not a battery fault; it is the system's power-loss behaviour. After fitting the replacement battery and powering the transmitter back on, press the pairing button on both units to re-establish the link manually. Confirm the receiver's signal indicator is solid before rolling camera again.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Mars 4K transmitter cuts out mid-shot with a battery that still shows charge — what's happening?

This is voltage sag, not a dead battery. The Mars 4K pulls a combined load from its RF transmitter, video encoder, and DSP simultaneously, causing short current spikes. If the cell's internal resistance is high — from age, a prior deep discharge, or a substandard replacement — voltage briefly dips below the BMS cutoff and the unit shuts down even though the gauge still reads partial charge. Check resting voltage with a multimeter: a good cell at partial charge should read above 7.0V at rest. Replace any cell reading below 7.0V unloaded.

The Mars 400S Pro receiver stopped syncing after I swapped the transmitter battery — did I damage something?

Nothing is damaged. When the transmitter powers off during a battery swap, the Mars series drops the wireless pair link and does not auto-recover it. Power the transmitter fully on with the new battery seated, then hold the pairing button on both the transmitter and receiver until the indicator confirms a new link. This is a system behaviour on power loss, not a fault with the battery or the receiver hardware.

The battery indicator on the Mars 300 Pro jumps to low within minutes of a fresh charge — is the new cell faulty?

The fuel gauge on these units reads voltage, not true charge state via coulomb counting. If the battery was stored for an extended period before use, the cell voltage can settle slightly lower than a freshly charged cell, causing the gauge to underreport. Charge the battery fully until the charger indicates complete, then run one full transmit-active session without interruption — the gauge calibrates against real load and will read accurately after that first full cycle.
