Fits Carneo SmartCleaner 610 robotic vacuum; replaces OEM battery CS-KSB001VX.
14.4V, 2000mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers 28.8Wh for sustained motor draw during full cleaning cycles.
Connector slides vertical into dock housing with spring-tab locking — orientation keyed one way only.
Bench testing showed stable voltage ramp on dock charge cycle; BMS accepts standard trickle termination at full state.
Remove this battery from the charging dock immediately after reaching full charge — continuous dock power causes Ni-MH capacity fade within weeks.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Carneo SmartCleaner 610 — 14.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 14.4V, 2000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Carneo SmartCleaner 610 robotic vacuum cleaner. It slots into the original battery compartment and restores power to the drive motors and cleaning system. Capacity matches the factory spec at 2000mAh (28.8Wh).

  • SmartCleaner 610 platform fit: The SmartCleaner 610 runs a 14.4V motor bus with a Ni-MH cell stack. This battery matches that voltage rail and cell count, so the onboard control board sees the correct charge curve and does not flag a fault on startup.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the SmartCleaner 610 platform. The BMS accepted the Ni-MH charge profile without cutoff errors, and the motor drew current normally across hard floor and carpet transitions.
  • Dock charging behaviour on Ni-MH cells: Do not leave the SmartCleaner 610 sitting on the charging dock indefinitely. Ni-MH cells are more vulnerable to trickle-charge damage than lithium chemistry — continuous dock contact accelerates capacity fade. Charge to full, then remove.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

Ni-MH cells show a flatter discharge curve than lithium, but voltage still sags under load when capacity has degraded. On the SmartCleaner 610, the drive motor and suction fan share the same 14.4V bus. A partially blocked filter forces the fan motor to draw above rated current, which pulls cell voltage down faster than the indicator circuit tracks. The indicator reads remaining charge by voltage, so it can still show mid-level while suction has already weakened. Clean the filter first — if suction recovers, the battery is not the cause.

Motor cuts out mid-cycle then recovers after a short pause

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When suction is restricted — blocked filter, tangled brush roll, or the unit wedged against furniture — the fan motor draws a sustained current spike. The BMS reads that as an overcurrent event and cuts the output rail to protect the cells. After a short cooldown the BMS resets and the unit powers back on. Clear the restriction and check that the brush roll spins freely. If the cutout stops happening, the battery is fine — the fault was mechanical, not chemical.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Carneo SmartCleaner 610 runs for a noticeably shorter time on the new battery than it did when the original was new — is something wrong?

A partially blocked filter is the most common cause. It forces the fan motor to draw more than rated current, burning through charge faster than the spec assumes. Clean the filter completely, then run a full charge cycle from flat before judging runtime. If the unit still falls short after a clean filter and a proper first full charge, check that the charger is completing a full charge cycle rather than cutting off early.

The SmartCleaner 610 was sitting unused for a few months and now the battery won't charge — the charger light just stays the same colour and nothing happens.

Ni-MH cells that sit discharged for extended periods can drop below the voltage threshold the charger needs to initiate a charge cycle. The charger sees what looks like a dead short and refuses to start. Some chargers have a recovery or conditioning mode — check the charger manual for a trickle-start or recovery step. If yours does not, connect the battery to the charger for 15–20 minutes anyway; some units will detect a slow voltage rise and switch into normal charge mode once the cell voltage climbs above roughly 10V.

The SmartCleaner 610 loses suction strongly on carpet but works fine on hard floors — does the battery need replacing?

Not necessarily — this pattern points to motor voltage sag under high load, not a failed battery. Carpet increases resistance on the brush roll and fan simultaneously, pulling more current than hard-floor operation. If the filter is partially clogged, that compounds the load further. Clean the filter and check the brush roll for hair or debris wrapped around the axle. Run the unit again on carpet after clearing both — if suction improves, the battery capacity is not the issue.
