Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Cecotec Conga Popstar Micro 18.5V — 18.5V Li-ion Replacement Battery (CMICR18650-5S1P)
This 18.5V 2600mAh (48.1Wh) Li-ion battery pack replaces the original cell in the Cecotec 05539 and Conga Popstar Micro 18.5V cordless stick vacuums. It uses the same 5S1P 18650 cell configuration as the factory pack. Voltage, connector, and BMS handshake all match the original specification.
- Conga Popstar Micro 18.5V platform: The 05539 and Conga Popstar Micro share the same 18.5V nominal rail, 5S cell arrangement, and dock-side charging circuit. Any pack that matches this configuration will communicate correctly with the onboard BMS without triggering a charge fault.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on the Conga Popstar Micro platform. The BMS accepted full charge without error, held voltage through motor start, and maintained consistent output across multiple cleaning runs on both hard floor and carpet modes.
- Dock charging habit on the Conga Popstar Micro: Do not leave this vacuum on the charging dock continuously between uses. The Conga Popstar Micro dock does not interrupt charge once full — sustained trickle current accelerates cell degradation faster than normal cycle wear. Charge to full, then remove from dock.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
The 05539 motor draws significantly more current when the filter is partially blocked — sometimes two to three times the rated draw under restriction. This extra load pulls pack voltage down faster than the indicator circuit expects, so suction fades while the LED still shows adequate charge. The BMS interprets the voltage sag as a low-cell event and begins throttling output to protect the cells. Clean or replace the filter first — if suction restores to full power, the battery is not the fault.
Motor cutting out briefly then recovering during use
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a faulty battery. It happens when sustained airflow restriction forces the motor to pull beyond the pack's continuous current rating — the BMS opens the discharge circuit, the motor stops, the pack resets in seconds, and power returns. A clean filter is the fix in most cases. If the cutout continues after cleaning the filter, check for a blockage in the nozzle or hose before replacing the battery. Confirm pack voltage sits above 17V at rest after the trip — anything below that points to genuine cell wear rather than a BMS protection event.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Cecotec Conga Popstar Micro runs for a very short time even with a new charge — filter is clean. What's wrong?
Short runtime on an otherwise clean vacuum usually means cell capacity has degraded beyond normal use, or the original pack has a weak cell in the 5S string pulling down overall output. A single low-capacity cell in the chain causes the BMS to cut discharge earlier to protect it, reducing usable run time across the whole pack. Swap to a fresh replacement pack and check whether runtime returns to normal — if it does, one or more cells in the old pack had failed.
The replacement battery won't charge on the dock — the dock light just flashes and never goes solid.
A flashing dock light typically means the charger is not detecting the expected BMS handshake from the pack. The Conga Popstar Micro charging dock communicates with the battery's protection circuit before beginning charge — if the pack's BMS is in a deep-discharge lockout state, the dock reads it as incompatible. Remove the pack, wait two minutes, and re-seat it firmly in the dock. If the light still flashes, check that the pack's resting voltage is above 15V using a multimeter — below that threshold, the BMS may need a recovery charge via a compatible external Li-ion charger before the dock will accept it.
I left my Conga Popstar Micro on the dock for several weeks and now it barely holds charge. Did I damage the battery?
Yes — continuous dock charging is the most common cause of premature capacity fade on this vacuum. The Conga Popstar Micro dock does not cut power once the pack reaches full charge, so the cells sit under a sustained trickle current. Over weeks, this causes lithium plating inside the cells and reduces the amount of charge they can hold. A replacement pack will restore capacity, but only if you change the charging habit: charge to full and remove the vacuum from the dock rather than leaving it plugged in permanently.
