Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Cecotec Conga 9990 / 10090 / 9590 Spin Revolution Ultra Power — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This 14.4V 5200mAh (74.88Wh) lithium-ion battery pack fits the Cecotec Conga 9990, 10090, and 9590 Spin Revolution Ultra Power robotic vacuum cleaners. It replaces the original cell when capacity has faded and the robot no longer completes its cleaning cycle. Dimensions are 132.00 × 38.60 × 36.80mm — confirm against your existing pack before ordering.
- Conga 9590, 9990, and 10090 share this cell: All three models run the same 14.4V rail and use the same physical form factor and BMS communication protocol. A pack that seats and handshakes correctly in one will do the same in the others.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on a Conga 9990 unit. The BMS handshook with the charger without fault codes, the voltage held stable through the motor-start surge, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at the low-voltage threshold.
- Dock charging habit on the Conga platform: Do not leave the robot sitting on the charging dock between cleaning sessions permanently. Continuous trickle charge on this cell chemistry accelerates capacity fade. Charge to full, run a cycle, and repeat — do not use the dock as a storage cradle.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator shows low on the Conga 9990
The Conga's suction motor draws significantly more current when airflow is restricted — a partially blocked filter forces the motor to work harder, which pulls the cell voltage down faster than the indicator expects. The indicator is calibrated against a clean-filter current draw profile, so voltage sag under restriction reads as normal until the cell is nearly flat. The result is noticeably weaker suction well before the low-battery alert fires. Clean or replace the HEPA filter first — if suction recovers, the battery is not the cause.
Motor cutting out mid-run and then recovering after a few seconds
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a battery failure in most cases. When the brush roll or intake is partially blocked, the motor current spikes above the BMS protection threshold and the pack shuts the output to protect the cells. After a few seconds the BMS resets and the motor restarts. Clear any debris from the brush roll and intake, then check that the filter is not clogged. If cut-outs stop after cleaning, the pack is functioning correctly. If cut-outs continue on a clear machine, check that resting cell voltage is above 12.8V before assuming a faulty pack.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Conga 9990 powers on and starts moving but loses suction strength halfway through a clean — is the new battery the problem?
Usually not. When the filter is even partially blocked, the suction motor draws more current than rated, which drags the cell voltage down faster than normal and causes early suction loss well before the charge indicator drops. Pull the HEPA filter and clean or replace it, then run the robot again. If suction holds through the full cycle, the battery is fine — restricted airflow was pulling the voltage down, not a weak cell.
The robot keeps stopping mid-clean, sitting for a few seconds, then starting again — what's causing that?
That stop-and-restart pattern is the BMS tripping on an overcurrent spike, then resetting. It happens when the brush roll or intake is blocked and the motor has to work harder to maintain suction — current spikes above the BMS protection limit and the pack cuts output to protect the cells. Clear the brush roll, intake, and filter completely. If the cutting-out stops, the protection circuit is doing exactly what it should; if it continues on a fully clear machine, measure resting voltage — it should be above 12.8V on a freshly charged pack.
The replacement battery charged fully but capacity seems to have dropped after only a few weeks — what went wrong?
Continuous dock charging is almost always the cause on the Conga platform. Leaving the robot parked on the dock between every session means the BMS applies a low-level trickle charge constantly, which degrades lithium-ion cells faster than normal cycling. Charge the pack to full, remove the robot from the dock, run a cleaning cycle, and then return it to charge only when depleted. Following that pattern will preserve usable capacity significantly longer than permanent dock storage.
