Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Cecotec Conga 8090 Ultra — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (84815)
This 14.4V, 6700mAh Li-ion battery replaces part number 84815 in the Cecotec Conga 8090 Ultra, Conga 8090 Ultra T, Conga 8090 Ultra X, and Conga 9090 Ai robotic vacuum cleaners. It slots into the original battery bay and connects to the same BMS handshake the charger expects. Capacity is 96.48Wh — matched to the original cell specification.
- Conga 8090 and 9090 Ai platform fit: These four models share the same 14.4V battery rail, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. A single cell revision covers all of them — no adapter or firmware change needed.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on the Conga 8090 Ultra dock. The BMS negotiated correctly with the charger, voltage held stable through the motor start surge, and the protection circuit tripped at expected thresholds under load.
- Dock charging behaviour on the Conga platform: Do not leave the robot sitting on the dock permanently between cleans. The Conga charges via continuous contact — no active trickle management cuts the current once full. Remove the unit from the dock when the charge cycle completes to avoid accelerated capacity fade.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
This happens when the motor draws more current than the BMS expects — usually because the filter is partially blocked. A restricted airflow path forces the motor to work harder, spiking current draw and pulling voltage below the threshold where the robot maintains full suction power. The BMS reads this as a low-battery condition even when charge is still available. Clean the filter before fitting the new battery — a blocked filter will replicate the same symptom on a fresh cell.
Motor cuts out mid-clean then recovers after a few seconds
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When suction is sustained against a blockage — carpet fibres packed at the brush roll, or a clogged pre-filter — current spikes past the protection limit and the BMS shuts the motor circuit down briefly. The trip resets automatically once current drops, which is why the robot appears to recover on its own. Clear the brush roll and check the filter; if the cut-outs continue after cleaning, measure resting voltage on the battery — it should sit above 16.0V when fully charged.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Conga 8090 Ultra loses suction well before the low battery light comes on — is the new battery going to fix this?
Not on its own, no. Suction drop before the low-battery indicator is almost always a blocked filter forcing the motor to draw excess current, which pulls voltage down and triggers a premature power reduction. The BMS interprets that current spike as a near-depleted cell even when charge remains. Clean the filter and brush roll first, then fit the replacement battery — if the filter is restricted, a fresh cell will show the exact same behaviour.
The robot keeps cutting out for a few seconds mid-clean and then restarts by itself — what's causing that?
That's the BMS overcurrent protection tripping under sustained restricted suction, typically from a packed brush roll or a clogged pre-filter. The circuit cuts the motor when current exceeds the rated limit, then resets once load drops — which is why the recovery looks automatic. Clear the brush roll completely and rinse the filter. If cut-outs continue after cleaning, charge the battery fully and check resting voltage — it should read above 16.0V off the dock before blaming the cell.
I left the Conga on the dock all the time and now the battery fades fast — will the replacement cell do the same thing?
Yes, if you keep it on the dock permanently. The Conga's charging dock maintains continuous contact with no active cut-off once the cell is full, so the battery sits at peak voltage indefinitely — that's the main driver of capacity fade in this platform. Charge the replacement to full, then remove the robot from the dock. Return it to the dock only when the battery is depleted or near depleted, and the new cell will hold its capacity significantly longer.
