Fits Dibea X500, X580, and KK8 cordless vacuums with original 14.4V Ni-MH pack.
14.4V and 2000mAh capacity delivers 28.8Wh — matches OEM output for sustained motor power on carpet and hard floors.
Connector slides into the battery slot with positive terminal forward; locking tab seats flush against the housing.
We bench-tested this pack on an X500 unit — BMS registered full voltage on first charge cycle with no delay cutoff.
Do not leave this vacuum on the charging dock continuously after reaching full charge; trickle charging degrades Ni-MH capacity within weeks.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Dibea X500 / X580 / KK8 — 14.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 14.4V 2000mAh Ni-MH battery pack for the Dibea X500, X580, and KK8 cordless stick vacuums. It replaces the original cell when the factory pack no longer holds enough charge to complete a cleaning run. Capacity is rated at 2000mAh (28.8Wh), matching the original specification.

  • X500, X580, and KK8 compatibility: These three models share the same 14.4V battery rail, connector footprint, and motor control circuit. The same pack fits all three without any modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on the X500 motor assembly. The BMS responded correctly to both motor-start inrush current and sustained suction load without tripping or throttling output.
  • Dock charging habit on cordless vacuums: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the charging dock permanently. Ni-MH cells in continuous trickle charge degrade significantly faster than cells charged only when depleted. Charge to full, then remove from the dock.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

This happens when the motor draws more current than the pack's internal resistance can sustain cleanly — voltage sags under load even though state-of-charge still reads normal. A partially blocked filter makes it worse because the motor works harder against restricted airflow, pulling the pack voltage down faster. The battery indicator measures resting voltage, not load voltage, so it lags behind what the motor is actually seeing. Clean the filter first, then retest suction under load.

Motor cutting out mid-clean and recovering after a short pause

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When suction is blocked — clogged filter, tangled brush roll, or a hard carpet pile — the motor current spikes past the BMS threshold and the pack shuts output to protect the cells. After a few seconds the BMS resets and power returns. The fix is to clear the restriction before the next run. If it trips on a clean, unblocked floor, check that pack voltage at rest sits above 13.0V before starting.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Dibea X500 suction feels weak from the start of the run, even with a full charge — is something wrong with the new battery?

Weak suction from a full charge is almost always a filter restriction, not the battery. A blocked filter forces the motor to work harder, which pulls the pack voltage down under load even when state-of-charge is high. Remove and clean the foam and HEPA filters before testing again. If suction recovers after cleaning the filters, the battery is fine.

The Dibea X500 motor cuts out after a minute or two on carpet, then comes back on its own — what's causing that?

The BMS is tripping on overcurrent, which happens when the motor hits sustained high resistance — dense carpet pile or a partially blocked brush roll are the most common causes. The cutout is the battery protecting itself, not a fault with the cell. Clear any hair wrap from the brush roll and clean the filter, then retest on the same carpet. If it still trips on a clear machine, check resting pack voltage is above 13.0V before starting.

The replacement battery fades noticeably after only a few weeks — it charged well at first but now the run feels much shorter. What happened?

Ni-MH cells are particularly sensitive to continuous dock charging. If the vacuum stays on the dock between every use, trickle current keeps flowing into already-full cells and accelerates capacity loss. This can happen within weeks of first use. Remove the vacuum from the dock as soon as the charge indicator shows full, and only put it back when the pack is genuinely depleted.
