This 10.8V 2500mAh lithium-ion battery replaces the original pack in the ETA 3423 Verto II cordless handheld vacuum. It fits models 3423 Verto II and ETA342390000. OEM part numbers ETA342300100 and ETA342300101 both cross to this cell.
- 3423 Verto II platform fit: Both OEM part numbers share the same 10.8V nominal rail, connector footprint, and BMS handshake protocol. The vacuum's motor controller reads the BMS signal on startup — a mismatch here causes the unit to refuse to run even with a charged cell.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge cycles on the Verto II and confirmed the BMS handshake clears correctly on power-up. The protection circuit tripped at expected thresholds under sustained high-draw load, then reset cleanly.
- Dock charging behaviour: Do not leave the Verto II on the charging dock continuously. Cordless vacuums on permanent dock charge develop capacity fade significantly faster than those charged only when depleted. Charge to full, then remove from the dock.
Cordless vacuum losing suction before battery indicator reaches low
The Verto II motor draws more current when the filter is partially blocked — the motor works harder to pull the same airflow. That higher draw creates a voltage sag at the battery terminals. The BMS reads this sag as a low-cell condition and throttles output before the LED indicator catches up. Clean or replace the filter first; if suction restores, the battery is not the cause.
Motor cuts out mid-use then recovers after a short pause
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a depleted cell. When suction is restricted — blocked filter, sealed nozzle, or heavy carpet contact — the motor spikes current above the protection threshold. The BMS cuts output to protect the cells, then resets once current drops. Clear any blockage and check the filter before resuming use. If trips continue with a clean filter, measure resting pack voltage: a healthy cell at partial charge should read above 10.8V.

The replacement battery charges fully but the Verto II loses suction much sooner than the original — what's causing it?
A partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw more current than rated to maintain airflow, which drains the pack faster than normal. This can happen even when the filter looks clean — fine dust compacted in the mesh cuts airflow significantly. Remove and tap out the filter, or rinse it if the model allows, and retest. If suction duration improves, the filter was the cause, not the cell capacity.
The Verto II motor cuts out after a minute or two of heavy use and then starts again after I set it down — is the battery faulty?
That cut-and-recover pattern is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a failing cell. When the nozzle is pressed hard against carpet or a blockage restricts airflow, the motor current spikes above the protection threshold and the BMS shuts output to protect the cells. It resets once the load drops, which is why a short pause brings it back. Check the filter and nozzle for blockages first — if trips stop after clearing them, the battery is working as intended.
The Verto II won't charge on this replacement battery — the charger light stays off or blinks differently than before.
The Verto II charger communicates with the BMS before delivering current — if the BMS handshake isn't recognised, the charger won't initiate a charge cycle. First, seat the battery firmly in the dock and wait 60 seconds, as some BMS units need a moment to initialise from a deep-discharge state. If the charger still won't respond, check that the pack voltage reads at least 9.0V with a multimeter — below that threshold, the charger may refuse to engage. A reading above 9.0V with no charge response points to a connector or dock contact issue rather than the cell itself.
