Fits Ilife A4S, A4, A6, and V7 robotic vacuums; replaces OEM part number PX-B020.
14.8V lithium-ion pack with 2200mAh capacity delivers stable voltage to the motor during multi-room cleaning passes.
Connector slides vertically into the battery slot on the chassis; locking tab seats flush when fully inserted.
We ran this cell through five charge and discharge cycles on an A4S unit; BMS engaged protection once under sustained filter-restricted draw, then recovered normally.
Do not leave the vacuum on the charging dock continuously — cordless vacuum packs on constant dock charge develop capacity fade significantly faster than those charged only when depleted.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Ilife A4S / A4 / A6 / V7 — 14.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (PX-B020)

This is a 14.8V 2200mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Ilife A4S robotic vacuum and its platform siblings — the A4, A6, and V7. It fits the same physical tray and connects to the same BMS handshake point as the factory cell. Swap it when the original no longer holds enough charge to complete a cleaning cycle.

  • A4S / A4 / A6 / V7 platform fit: These models share the same 14.8V four-cell architecture, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol — which is why one cell works across the full range without any adapter or modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge on an A4S unit. The BMS accepted the handshake without fault flags, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at low-voltage cutoff before the motor could draw the pack below safe floor voltage.
  • Dock charging habit: Do not leave the A4S sitting on the charging dock between every run. Continuous trickle charge on this cell chemistry accelerates capacity fade faster than normal cycle aging. Charge to full, then remove the robot from the dock until the next use.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

The A4S motor controller scales back power when pack voltage sags under load — even if the indicator still reads mid-level. A partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw more current than rated, which pulls cell voltage down faster than the indicator can track. The result is noticeably weaker suction while the lights still show adequate charge. Clean the filter first; if suction recovers immediately, the battery is not the problem.

Motor cutting out mid-cycle and then recovering after a short pause

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When sustained suction restriction drives current above the pack's rated threshold, the protection circuit opens the output to prevent cell damage. After a few seconds the BMS resets and the motor restarts. The fix is to clear the suction path — check the filter, brush roll, and inlet port for blockage — then confirm pack voltage reads at or above 16.0V on a full charge before ruling out the cell itself.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Ilife A4S cuts out for a few seconds mid-clean and then starts again on its own — is that the battery failing?

Not necessarily the battery. That behaviour is a BMS overcurrent trip — the pack's protection circuit opens when sustained motor current exceeds its rated threshold, then resets after a brief pause. It almost always means the suction path is restricted: check the filter, brush roll, and inlet for blockage before assuming the cell is at fault. If the robot still trips after cleaning those out, charge the pack fully and confirm voltage reads at or above 16.0V before replacing the battery.

The A4S ran fine for the first few weeks with the new battery, but cleaning time has dropped noticeably since then — what causes that so quickly?

Continuous dock charging is the most common cause of early capacity fade on this platform. When the robot sits on the dock between every run, the charger delivers a constant low-level charge that stresses the lithium cells even after they are full. Over weeks this degrades usable capacity faster than normal cycle wear would. Charge to full, remove the robot from the dock, and only return it to charge when the battery is depleted.

The replacement battery is installed correctly but the A4S will not start charging on the dock — what should I check?

The A4S charger expects a BMS handshake on the data pin before it delivers current; if that signal is absent or out of range, the charger stays off as a safety measure. First, reseat the battery and make sure the connector is fully clicked in — a partial connection breaks the data line. If it still will not charge, measure dock output voltage with a multimeter; it should read approximately 19V to 20V at the charging contacts with no load. A dock reading outside that range points to a charger fault, not the battery.
