Fits Panasonic MC-B10P, MC-B20J, MC-B20JP cordless vacuums; replaces OEM part AMV10V-8K.
9.6V, 1500mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers consistent power output throughout the discharge curve for this handheld unit.
Connector slides into the battery slot with a single locking tab; orientation is keyed to prevent reverse insertion.
We bench-tested this cell in the MC-B10P charger; the NiMH BMS accepted full charge with no fault codes or early cutoff.
Do not leave this vacuum on the charging dock continuously — Ni-MH cells on trickle charge fade rapidly; charge fully and remove immediately.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Panasonic MC-B10P / MC-B20JP — 9.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (AMV10V-8K)

This is a 9.6V 1500mAh Ni-MH replacement for the Panasonic AMV10V-8K battery cell. It fits the MC-B10P, MC B 20 J, and MC-B20JP cordless vacuum cleaners. Swap it in when the original cell no longer holds a full charge or stops powering the motor entirely.

  • MC-B10P and MC-B20JP compatibility: Both vacuums share the same 9.6V battery rail, connector layout, and cell count. The AMV10V-8K pack drops into either model without modification — the BMS handshake runs the same charge profile across both.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on the MC-B10P platform and confirmed BMS charge acceptance, full motor spin-up voltage, and cutoff behaviour under simulated blockage load. Discharge stayed stable until the protection circuit tripped at the correct low-voltage threshold.
  • Dock charging habit on Ni-MH cells: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the charging dock continuously between uses. Ni-MH chemistry on a trickle charge develops capacity fade faster than Li-ion. Charge to full, remove from the dock, and return it only when depleted.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

This happens when the motor is drawing more current than the cell can cleanly deliver at mid-charge. A partially blocked filter increases motor load — the cell voltage sags under that extra draw even though stored capacity remains. The vacuum's suction weakens because motor speed drops, not because the battery is empty. Clean the filter first, then retest; suction loss at mid-charge on a clean filter points to a worn cell that can no longer hold voltage under load.

Motor cuts out briefly, then recovers on its own

That self-recovering cutout is the BMS tripping on an overcurrent spike, then resetting once current drops back inside limits. It happens most often when the brush head hits a carpet transition or when the filter is partially clogged — both force the motor to pull a sustained high-current draw. A healthy new cell can still trip this cutout if the filter restriction is severe enough. Clear the filter and check the brush roll for tangled debris before assuming the battery is at fault.

Frequently Asked Questions

My MC-B10P loses suction halfway through cleaning even though the battery indicator still shows charge — what's happening?

The indicator shows remaining capacity, not voltage under load. A restricted filter forces the motor to draw more current than rated, which drags cell voltage down and drops motor speed — suction weakens even though charge remains. Clean the filter and brush roll first, then run the vacuum again. If suction holds across a full charge cycle with a clean filter, the filter restriction was the cause, not the battery.

The motor on my MC-B20JP cuts out for a second and then restarts on its own — is the battery failing?

That behaviour is the BMS tripping an overcurrent cutoff and auto-resetting, not a dead cell. It happens when the motor sustains a high-current draw — usually from a clogged filter, a jammed brush roll, or pressing the head hard into thick carpet. Check the filter and brush roll for blockages before blaming the battery. If the cutout stops once airflow is clear, the BMS was doing its job correctly.

The replacement battery accepts a full charge but the vacuum loses capacity noticeably after a few months — what causes that?

Ni-MH cells degrade faster than Li-ion when kept on a trickle charge between uses. Leaving the MC-B10P on the dock continuously is the most common cause of early capacity fade — the charger keeps feeding a small current into an already-full pack. Charge the battery fully, then remove the vacuum from the dock until it needs charging again. That one change significantly slows capacity loss on Ni-MH cells.
