Fits the Mint Plus 5200 and Plus 5200C robotic vacuum cleaners, replacing OEM battery CS-IRB380VX.
This 7.2V Ni-MH cell delivers 1500mAh capacity, sustaining motor torque across hard floors without premature voltage sag.
Battery slides into the dock connector with single-point orientation; the locking tab seats flush and prevents accidental discharge during storage.
We bench-tested this pack under sustained suction draw; the BMS held steady without protective cutoff through full discharge cycles.
Do not leave the Mint Plus 5200 on the charging dock permanently — cordless vacuums on continuous trickle charge develop capacity fade significantly faster than those charged only when depleted.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Mint Plus 5200 / Plus 5200C — 7.2V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 7.2V 1500mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Mint Plus 5200 and Plus 5200C robotic floor cleaner. It slots into the same bay as the original cell and restores the unit's ability to run sweeping and mopping cycles on hard floors. Voltage and capacity match the factory specification exactly.

  • Plus 5200 and 5200C compatibility: Both variants share the same battery bay geometry, voltage rail, and connector pinout. The 5200C added a mapping upgrade but kept the original 7.2V power architecture, so one cell fits both without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the cell through a full charge cycle and monitored BMS behaviour under the Mint's typical motor load. Voltage held steady through the sweep and mop phases with no cutoff events or anomalous heat at the contacts.
  • Dock charging discipline on the Mint Plus: Do not leave the Mint sitting on its charging contacts indefinitely between uses. Continuous trickle charging on Ni-MH cells accelerates capacity fade faster than periodic full-cycle charging. Charge the unit fully, then remove it from the dock until the next cleaning session.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on the Mint Plus 5200

Ni-MH cells show a relatively flat discharge curve until capacity is nearly exhausted, then voltage drops quickly. The Mint's motor draws more current when the filter is even partially restricted, which accelerates that terminal voltage drop. A cell that still shows charge on the indicator can fall below the motor's minimum operating voltage under load if the filter is dirty. Clean the filter first — if suction recovers and holds, the cell is fine; if it still sags early, the cell has lost usable capacity.

Mint Plus 5200 motor cuts out mid-cycle then recovers after a pause

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a depleted cell. When the intake is blocked or the filter is clogged, the motor works harder and current draw spikes above the BMS threshold. The protection circuit opens, the unit stops, and after the BMS resets — typically within 30 to 60 seconds — it restarts. Clear the intake path, check the filter for debris buildup, and run again. If trips continue on a clean filter with a new cell, the motor itself is drawing above rated current and needs inspection.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Mint Plus 5200 loses suction well before the battery light comes on — is the new cell already failing?

Not necessarily. On Ni-MH cells, voltage holds fairly flat through most of the discharge and then drops sharply at the end. A dirty or even partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw extra current, which pushes the cell into that terminal drop earlier than the indicator anticipates. Clean the filter thoroughly and run a fresh cycle — if suction holds longer, the cell is fine and the filter was the cause.

The Mint Plus 5200 keeps stopping mid-clean and restarting on its own — what is triggering that?

That stop-and-restart pattern is the BMS cutting out on an overcurrent spike, not a dead battery. When the intake or filter is restricted, motor current climbs above the BMS trip threshold, the circuit opens, and the unit pauses until it resets. Clear the intake rollers and inspect the filter for compacted debris. If it still trips on a clean filter with a fully charged cell, measure pack voltage at rest — it should read at or above 8.4V off the charger.

My Mint Plus 5200 ran noticeably shorter cycles after sitting on the dock for months — is that the battery or the charger?

That is battery fade from continuous trickle charging. Ni-MH cells left on a dock indefinitely take a constant small charge that degrades cell capacity over time, even without heavy use. A replacement cell will restore runtime, but remove it from the dock once fully charged rather than leaving it connected. Charge only when the unit signals low power and the fade rate will be significantly slower.
