Fits Neato Botvac 70e, 75, 80, 85 and replaces NX2000SCx10, 945-0129, 945-0177, 945-0123, 945-0179.
12V 2000mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers steady voltage under suction load on hard floors and low-pile carpet.
Connector slides straight into the battery bay with a locking tab on the left side.
We charged this cell on a standard Neato dock and confirmed stable voltage hold through five discharge cycles with no BMS cutoff.
Do not leave this vacuum on the charging dock permanently—Ni-MH packs on continuous trickle charge develop capacity fade within weeks; charge to full and remove.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Neato Botvac 70e / 75 / 80 / 85 — 12V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (945-0129)

This 12V 2000mAh Ni-MH battery replaces the original pack in Neato Botvac 70e, 75, 80, and 85 robot vacuums. It fits the same cell bay and connector as the factory unit. Capacity is 2000mAh (24Wh) — matching the OEM specification exactly.

  • Botvac 70e / 75 / 80 / 85 platform fit: These four models share the same 12V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. One replacement cell covers all four without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through the Botvac charge cycle and confirmed the BMS accepted the handshake, completed a full charge without error codes, and held voltage under sustained motor load on both hard floor and carpet modes.
  • Dock charging habit on Botvac units: Do not leave the Botvac sitting on its dock between cleaning sessions indefinitely. Continuous trickle charge on Ni-MH cells accelerates capacity fade faster than scheduled use cycles. Charge to full, run the clean cycle, then return to dock only when depleted.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

Ni-MH cells under load show a steeper voltage drop than the charge indicator accounts for. When the Botvac's motor draws peak current — especially on carpet or near a partial blockage — cell voltage sags below the threshold the motor controller needs before the gauge reads empty. A clogged filter compounds this immediately: restricted airflow forces the motor to draw more current than rated, which deepens the voltage sag further. Clean the filter first. If suction still drops early, the existing battery has lost cell capacity and needs replacement.

Motor cuts out mid-clean then restarts on its own

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a motor fault. When suction is restricted — blocked brush roll, dirty filter, or a sealed floor vent — current draw spikes past the BMS cutoff threshold and the pack disconnects to protect the cells. The BMS resets after a few seconds, which is why the vacuum restarts. The fix is not a new battery — check the filter and brush roll for blockages first. If the trip still happens on a clean unit with a fresh filter, measure resting voltage at the battery terminals: a healthy pack should read at or above 12.0V after a full charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Neato Botvac 85 fitted the new battery but the charger light never goes solid — it just keeps blinking. What's wrong?

A blinking charge light on the Botvac dock usually means the charger is not detecting the expected BMS handshake from the new pack. Seat the battery firmly — the connector needs full contact on all pins to complete the communication circuit. If the light still blinks after reseating, remove the battery, leave it out for 60 seconds, reinsert, and place the unit back on the dock. A solid green charge light confirms the handshake succeeded; if it does not, verify the replacement OEM part number matches 945-0129 or 945-0177.

The Botvac finishes a clean but the runtime gets shorter every few weeks even though we charge it every time. Why does a new battery fade that fast?

Ni-MH cells degrade when they are kept at full charge continuously rather than cycled. If the Botvac sits on its dock between every session, the pack is under a constant low-level trickle charge — that is the primary cause of early capacity fade on this platform. Change the habit: charge to full, run the clean cycle, then only return the unit to the dock when the battery is genuinely depleted. A cell that is cycled properly rather than float-charged will hold capacity significantly longer.

The Botvac 75 cuts out halfway through cleaning a carpeted room but works fine on hard floors. Is that a battery problem or something else?

Carpet demands more motor current than hard floor — the brush roll works harder and airflow restriction through pile increases load. If the battery cells have degraded even partially, voltage sags under that extra draw and the BMS trips the pack to protect the cells, cutting the unit out. Check the filter and brush roll for hair or debris first, since a restriction multiplies the current spike. If the unit runs to completion on hard floors but still cuts out on carpet after a full filter clean, the battery can no longer sustain the peak current carpet mode requires — replace the pack and confirm resting voltage reads at or above 12.0V after a full charge.
