Fits Philips FC6125 cordless vacuum; replaces OEM part 422245945563.
4.8V, 1800mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers steady voltage to the motor during floor cleaning cycles.
Connector plugs into the FC6125 battery slot with a push-fit locking tab; orientation is keyed.
Bench testing showed the cell held voltage under sustained motor draw; BMS passed full charge-cycle without early cutoff.
Do not leave this vacuum on the charging dock continuously—Ni-MH packs on dock standby fade capacity faster than batteries removed after full charge.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Philips FC6125 — 4.8V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (422245945563)

This is a 4.8V, 1800mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Philips FC6125 cordless handheld vacuum cleaner. It slots into the FC6125's battery compartment and powers the motor directly. Capacity is 1800mAh (8.64Wh), matching the original cell specification.

  • FC6125 fitment: The FC6125 runs a 4.8V Ni-MH cell pack at a fixed voltage rail. This replacement matches that rail and the physical form factor — 86.50 x 50.00 x 22.50mm — so the battery seats correctly without forcing the housing.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through motor-load draws typical of the FC6125 and confirmed the BMS held stable across repeated suction cycles without tripping or dropping the voltage rail mid-use.
  • Dock charging on the FC6125: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the charging dock continuously. Ni-MH cells in the FC6125 are particularly vulnerable to trickle-charge damage from permanent dock contact — charge to full, then remove it.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on the FC6125

Ni-MH cells show a flat discharge curve until they drop off sharply — the FC6125's indicator reads that curve and can appear fine while the cell is already sagging under motor load. A partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw above its rated current, accelerating that voltage sag. The motor loses torque before the indicator catches up. Clean the filter first, then check whether suction recovers at full charge — if it does, the filter was the cause, not the battery.

FC6125 motor cutting out mid-use then recovering after a few seconds

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When the filter is restricted, the motor draws sustained current above the BMS threshold and the protection circuit opens to prevent cell damage. The BMS resets after a short cooldown — that is why the vacuum comes back on its own. Clear the filter and check the suction path for blockages before assuming the battery is at fault. If cut-outs persist on a clean filter, verify the cell voltage is at or above 4.8V under load.

Frequently Asked Questions

My FC6125 seems to drain fast even though the filter is clean — could continuous dock charging have killed the original battery?

Yes — this is the most common cause of premature capacity fade in the FC6125. Ni-MH cells stored on a trickle charge degrade faster than those charged only when depleted. The charger keeps passing a small current into a full cell, and over weeks that breaks down the cell chemistry. With the replacement battery, charge to full and pull it off the dock rather than leaving it docked permanently.

The FC6125 cuts out under heavy carpet use but restarts after a few seconds — is this a battery fault?

In most cases it is not. The BMS is tripping on an overcurrent spike from the motor working harder against carpet pile resistance or a restricted airflow path. We saw this same behaviour on the bench when we partially blocked the suction path — the BMS opened the circuit and reset within seconds. Check the filter and the nozzle for blockage first; if the vacuum runs clean on hard floors but cuts out on carpet, the airflow restriction is the cause, not the cell.

The FC6125 won't start a charge cycle with the replacement battery installed — the charger light just flashes or shows no activity.

Some FC6125 chargers expect the cell voltage to sit above a minimum threshold before initiating a charge cycle. If the replacement cell shipped in a deeply discharged state, the charger may not recognise it. Try holding the power button for three seconds to wake the BMS, then reconnect the charger. If the charger still shows no activity, measure the battery terminals — a reading below 3.6V means the cell needs a trickle-prime before the standard charger will accept it.
