Fits Samsung VC-RS60, VC-RS60H, VC-RS62 cordless stick vacuums; replaces OEM part DJ96-0079A.
26.4V and 3600mAh capacity deliver sustained motor power through carpet and hard floors without voltage sag.
Connector slides into the dock-side charging port with a locking tab that seats flush against the housing.
We ran full discharge cycles on the Samsung dock charger; BMS accepted handshake without fault codes on first insertion.
Do not leave this vacuum on the charging dock permanently—continuous trickle charge degrades Ni-MH cells faster than removing after full charge.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung VC-RS60 Series — 26.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (DJ96-0079A)

This is a 26.4V, 3600mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Samsung VC-RS60, VC-RS60H, and VC-RS62 cordless stick vacuums. It replaces OEM part DJ96-0079A when the original cell loses capacity or fails outright. Physical dimensions match the factory pack at 204.57 x 70.18 x 37.63mm, so it seats and locks into the handle assembly without modification.

  • VC-RS60 / VC-RS60H / VC-RS62 compatibility: All three models run the same 26.4V battery rail, use the same locking connector, and share the same BMS handshake protocol — which is why one pack covers the full RS60 family.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through the VC-RS60 motor assembly under both hard floor and carpet-resistance loads. The BMS held steady through sustained high-draw passes, and voltage recovery between cycles stayed within spec.
  • Dock charging discipline on the RS60 series: Ni-MH cells are more vulnerable to trickle-charge damage than Li-ion. Remove the vacuum from the charging dock once the indicator shows full — leaving it docked continuously accelerates capacity fade faster than normal use cycles ever would.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

This happens when the motor is working against a restriction — a clogged filter or partially blocked brush roll — and drawing more current than the BMS expects at that charge level. The pack voltage sags under the elevated load, and the motor slows even though the indicator still reads mid-charge. It is not always a battery fault. Clean or replace the filter first, then retest under the same carpet load to see if suction holds.

Motor cutting out and recovering during a single cleaning pass

The BMS trips on overcurrent when sustained suction restriction pushes motor draw past the pack's rated threshold. The vacuum cuts out, recovers after a few seconds, then may trip again on the next long pass. This is a protective cutoff, not a faulty battery. Check the filter and brush roll for blockage before assuming the pack is defective — a clear airpath will drop motor draw back below the BMS trip point.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Samsung VC-RS60 loses suction halfway through cleaning but the battery light still shows green — what's happening?

The motor is pulling more current than the pack can sustain at that charge level, causing voltage to sag and suction to drop even with charge remaining on the indicator. This almost always means restricted airflow — a dirty filter is the most common cause, forcing the motor to work harder and draw more than rated. Clean or replace the filter, then run the vacuum again on the same surface to confirm. If suction holds steady after that, the battery is not the issue.

The vacuum cuts out after about 30 seconds on carpet, waits a few seconds, then starts again — is the new battery faulty?

That cut-and-recover pattern is the BMS tripping on overcurrent, not a defective cell. On carpet, the brush roll can generate enough resistance — especially if tangled with hair or fibres — to push motor draw past the BMS threshold, triggering a protective shutoff. Clear the brush roll completely, check the filter is clean, and test again. If the cutout stops, the airpath restriction was the cause, not the battery.

The replacement battery charges fine but the vacuum fades noticeably faster than the original did when new — what causes that?

Ni-MH cells degrade faster from continuous dock charging than from normal discharge cycles. If the vacuum was left on the dock permanently before the original battery failed, that trickle-charge habit will carry the same damage pattern onto the new pack. Charge only when the battery is depleted, remove from the dock once the indicator shows full, and store the vacuum off the charger. After three to five full discharge-charge cycles, capacity should stabilise at its rated level.
