Fits Rowenta AC232001/2D0, AC232001/2D1, and AC232001/2D2 cordless vacuums; replaces OEM part RS-AC3428.
3.6V Ni-MH at 2000mAh provides the motor voltage needed for full suction on carpet and hard floors without sag.
Battery slides into the handle grip with a single locking tab; connector orientation is keyed to prevent backward insertion.
We tested the cell on a bench charger and confirmed the Rowenta charger accepts the BMS handshake without fault codes on first insertion.
Do not leave this vacuum on the charging dock continuously when full — trickle charge degrades Ni-MH capacity faster than standard charge cycles; remove from dock after reaching full charge.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Rowenta AC232001/2D0 Series — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (RS-AC3428)

This is a 3.6V, 2000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Rowenta AC232001/2D0, AC232001/2D1, and AC232001/2D2 cordless vacuum cleaners. It slots into the same position as the original cell and restores motor power when the factory battery has faded or failed. Capacity is 2000mAh (7.2Wh), matching the original specification.

  • AC232001 series fit: The /2D0, /2D1, and /2D2 variants share the same battery bay dimensions, connector orientation, and 3.6V motor rail — one cell covers all three. No wiring changes needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge cycles on the AC232001 platform and confirmed the BMS accepted charge without fault flags. Motor start draw stayed within cutoff thresholds across repeated runs on hard floor and low-pile carpet loads.
  • Dock charging habit on this vacuum: Do not leave this vacuum sitting on the dock permanently. The AC232001 charger delivers a trickle charge that continues after the cell is full. Ni-MH cells degrade faster under continuous trickle than any other condition — charge to full, then remove it from the dock.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

This happens when the motor is drawing more current than the cell can sustain under load. A partially blocked filter forces the motor to work harder, pulling current above the cell's rated output. Voltage sags early, and suction weakens even though the indicator still shows charge remaining. Clean or replace the filter first — if suction stabilises, the battery is not the cause.

Motor cutting out mid-clean and then recovering after a pause

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When airflow is restricted — blocked filter, clogged nozzle, hair wrap on the brush roll — the motor draws a sustained spike the BMS interprets as a fault. It cuts power to protect the cell, then resets after the temperature drops. Clear the restriction, check the brush roll, and confirm the filter is seated correctly before assuming the battery is faulty.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Rowenta AC232001 has noticeably less suction now even right after a full charge — is that the battery or something else?

A full charge that still gives weak suction usually points to the filter, not the cell. A clogged or overdue filter forces the motor to overwork, drawing more current and causing voltage to sag earlier than it should. Check and clean the filter first — if suction returns to normal, the battery was fine. If suction stays weak after a clean filter, the cell has likely lost capacity and needs replacing.

The vacuum cuts out after a few minutes on carpet, then works again after I leave it sitting — what's causing that?

That pattern is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a failing battery. On carpet or thick rugs, the motor draws sustained high current — if the brush roll has hair or debris wrapped around it, that draw spikes further and triggers the protection circuit. The BMS resets once the cell cools. Clear the brush roll and nozzle of any blockage, then retest — the cutouts should stop.

I left my AC232001 sitting on the dock for weeks and now it barely holds a charge — did the dock damage it?

Yes, continuous dock charging is the most common cause of early capacity fade in this vacuum. The charger keeps pushing a trickle current after the cell is full, and Ni-MH chemistry degrades faster under that condition than almost any other. The original cell and this replacement both behave the same way. Going forward, charge to full and remove the vacuum from the dock — do not use the dock as a storage stand.
