Fits Samsung Navibot SR8845, SR8855, VCR8855, VCR8895 robotic vacuums; replaces OEM part VCA-RBT20.
14.4V Ni-MH chemistry with 3000mAh capacity delivers consistent voltage to the motor throughout the cleaning cycle without the sag that triggers early cutoff.
Connector is a proprietary two-pin contact block; slides straight into the battery compartment with a locking tab that clicks when fully seated.
We bench tested this cell against a depleted OEM pack; the BMS fired without faults on initial dock charge, and motor current draw stayed within spec on simulated carpet load.
Do not leave the vacuum on the charging dock permanently — continuous dock charge degrades Ni-MH capacity significantly faster than charging only when depleted.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung Navibot SR8845 / SR8855 Series — 14.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (VCA-RBT20)

This is a 14.4V, 3000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Samsung Navibot robotic vacuum range. It fits the SR8845, SR8855, VCR8855, and VCR8895 among many others in the Navibot line. The OEM part numbers covered include VCA-RBT20, DJ96-00113C, AP5576883, AP5579205, DJ63-01050A, DJ96-00116B, and DJ96-0083C.

  • Navibot SR and VCR platform fit: These models share a common 14.4V power rail, identical battery bay dimensions, and the same connector pinout. The BMS handshake protocol across this range is consistent, so the same cell pack works across all covered variants without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this battery on the SR8845 and confirmed the BMS accepts charge from the standard Navibot dock without fault codes. The protection circuit handled low-voltage cutoff correctly and responded to the dock's charge termination signal at capacity.
  • Dock charging habit for Navibot units: Do not leave the Navibot sitting on the dock continuously between cleans. Ni-MH cells in this pack degrade noticeably faster under constant trickle charge. Charge to full, then remove the unit from the dock until the next cleaning cycle.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

The Navibot's motor draws more current when airflow is restricted — a partially blocked filter forces higher amperage to maintain suction. The BMS reads this as elevated draw and begins throttling motor voltage before the fuel gauge registers a low-battery state. The result looks like battery failure but is actually a load response. Clean or replace the filter, and the motor draw drops back to rated current — typically around 14.4V stable under normal carpet load.

Motor cutting out mid-clean and recovering after a pause

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When the Navibot encounters sustained high resistance — thick carpet, a blockage in the brush roll, or a clogged duct — current draw spikes above the protection circuit threshold. The BMS cuts power to prevent cell damage, which reads as a shutdown. After a short rest, the circuit resets and the unit powers back on. Clear any blockage at the brush roll and check the duct path before assuming the battery is at fault.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Navibot SR8845 stops mid-clean then starts again after sitting for a minute — is that the battery?

That pattern is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a failing cell. The protection circuit cuts power when motor current spikes above its threshold — usually caused by a blocked brush roll, a clogged duct, or a thick carpet forcing the motor to overwork. Clear the brush roll and check the duct for debris. If the unit runs without interruption after that, the battery is fine.

Suction feels weak from the start of a clean even with a new battery — what causes that?

A restricted filter forces the Navibot's motor to draw more current than rated to maintain airflow. Under that elevated load, the BMS throttles motor voltage early — well before the battery is depleted. The result is reduced suction that has nothing to do with battery capacity. Wash or replace the filter, and motor draw returns to normal operating range.

My replacement battery is losing capacity much faster than expected — the Navibot barely covers half the floor now.

Ni-MH cells in the Navibot degrade quickly under continuous dock charging. If the unit sits on the dock between every clean, the charger applies a low-level trickle current indefinitely, which erodes cell capacity over weeks. Remove the unit from the dock once charging is complete and only return it when the battery needs a charge. This alone significantly slows capacity fade on a new replacement pack.
