Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Sennheiser 450 TRAVEL / MM 400 Series — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BA 370 PX)
This is a 3.7V 270mAh Li-Polymer cell that replaces the factory pack in the Sennheiser 450 TRAVEL, 550 Travel, MM 400, MM 400-X, and 13 additional compatible models. It slots directly into the headset's battery compartment and connects to the same BMS rail the original cell used. Voltage and capacity match the OEM spec exactly.
- 450 TRAVEL, 550 Travel, MM 400 compatibility: These headsets share the same 3.7V single-cell architecture, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. Swapping between them uses the same BA 370 PX pack because the battery management circuit reads identical cell parameters across all models in this lineup.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on the MM 400 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, balanced the charge correctly, and reported accurate status back to the headset firmware on completion.
- First-cycle charging on the MM 400 platform: After fitting a new cell, seat the headset in its charging cradle and run a complete charge cycle before use. The headset firmware recalibrates its talk-time gauge against the new cell's actual capacity during that first cycle — skipping it causes the indicator to read inaccurately for several sessions.
Why the 450 TRAVEL cuts out mid-call on a new battery
The 450 TRAVEL draws simultaneously from the audio codec and the Bluetooth radio during a call. Combined, that draw can briefly exceed what the BMS allows if the new cell is still at storage voltage rather than a full charge. The BMS interprets that voltage sag as an under-voltage condition and cuts the headset off as a protection measure. A full charge cycle before the first call resolves this — the cell needs to reach peak capacity before the BMS stops treating the load as a risk.
Talk time shorter than rated for the first few sessions
A fresh Li-Polymer cell does not deliver its full rated capacity on cycle one. The internal electrolyte needs three to five full charge-discharge cycles before the cell reaches its rated 270mAh output. This is normal electrochemistry, not a defective pack. Run several complete cycles — full charge, then use until the headset signals low battery — and talk time will increase each session until it stabilises at the rated figure.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Sennheiser 450 TRAVEL keeps dropping the call a few minutes in after I fitted a new battery — what's causing it?
This is a voltage sag cutoff. The BMS trips when the combined draw from the Bluetooth radio and audio codec briefly pulls the cell below the under-voltage threshold — common when a new pack is still at storage voltage. Charge the headset fully in its cradle before making any calls. One complete charge cycle brings the cell to peak voltage and stops the BMS from treating normal call load as an under-voltage event.
The charging cradle shows an error or won't recognise the new pack in my MM 400 — how do I fix this?
The cradle checks for a valid BMS handshake before it starts charging. If the new cell's voltage is too low coming out of storage, the base station may reject it or show a fault indicator. Remove the pack, leave it out for 30 seconds, then reseat it firmly and place the headset back in the cradle. If the error clears, let it complete a full charge cycle — the BMS handshake finalises during that first cycle and the cradle will recognise the pack normally from that point on.
The headset feels warm after extended calls — is that a problem with the new battery?
Warmth during long calls is expected on compact headsets in this series. The 450 TRAVEL and MM 400 house a 3.7V Li-Polymer cell, a Bluetooth radio, and audio circuitry in a very small enclosure, and sustained combined draw generates heat in a confined space. The BMS monitors cell temperature and will throttle or cut power if it reaches a dangerous level. If the headset becomes hot to the touch rather than warm, check that the battery compartment cover is fully seated — a loose cover traps heat that would otherwise dissipate through the housing.
