Fits Aastra 660177 and 660177/R1C cordless handsets; replaces OEM part BKB 201 010/1.
3.7V Li-ion at 650mAh delivers rated talk time across the DECT frequency band without RF dropoff.
Connector seats into the handset battery slot with a single locking tab; orientation is keyed.
We bench-tested against the base station charger; BMS accepted full voltage on first insertion without fault codes.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — Li-ion cells in DECT phones need a slow initial charge cycle to stabilize the fuel gauge circuit.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Aastra 660177 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BKB 201 010/1)

This 3.7V 650mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original pack in the Aastra 660177 and 660177/R1C cordless DECT handsets. It matches the OEM voltage and physical footprint, so no modifications are needed during installation. Compatible OEM part numbers include BKB 201 010/1, FA01302005, and FA83601195.

  • 660177 and 660177/R1C handsets: Both models run the same 3.7V single-cell Li-ion rail and share an identical battery bay and connector pinout. One battery covers both variants without adapters or wiring changes.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the 660177 platform. The BMS accepted charge from the base station immediately and held voltage within the handset's operating window across the full discharge curve.
  • First charge after installation: Li-ion cells in DECT handsets ship in a partially discharged state. Place the handset in the base cradle for a full uninterrupted charge cycle before making calls — this allows the BMS to calibrate the top-of-charge threshold correctly.

Talk time shorter than original battery after replacement

A new Li-ion cell often reports lower capacity on the first few cycles because the BMS hasn't yet mapped the full voltage swing of the new cell. The handset's fuel gauge is calibrated against the old, degraded pack, so initial readings can be pessimistic. Run two or three full charge-to-discharge cycles and the BMS recalibrates to the new cell's actual 650mAh capacity. If talk time remains short after five cycles, check that the handset sits flush in the base — poor cradle contact limits charge current and leaves the cell partially filled.

Base station not charging after battery swap

Some Aastra base stations use a voltage-sense circuit before committing charge current — if the new cell arrives below roughly 3.0V from storage, the base may show no charge indicator at all. Remove the handset, leave it out of the base for 30 seconds, then reseat it firmly. If the charge light still doesn't appear, confirm the battery connector is fully clicked in, as a partially seated connector breaks the sense circuit before the charging stage even begins.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Aastra 660177 handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — how do I get it back?

Removing power from the handset completely clears the DECT pairing stored in the handset's volatile memory on some 660177 units. You need to re-register the handset to the base after any battery change. Place the base into registration mode (usually a button hold on the base unit), then trigger the handset search from the handset menu. The handset and base exchange a new DECT authentication key during this step, and normal operation resumes once pairing is confirmed.

The battery drains completely overnight even when the handset is sitting in the base — what is causing that?

This is a cradle seating issue, not a battery fault. The 660177 base charges through two contact pins on the handset's base; if the handset isn't fully pressed into the cradle, those pins carry standby draw from the handset but deliver no charge current back. Lift the handset out, check the charge contacts on both the handset and base for dust or corrosion, then reseat it until you hear or feel it click into position. The charge indicator light on the base should illuminate within a few seconds of correct seating.

The 660177 handset drops calls or loses signal near the edge of its range after the battery swap — is that a battery issue?

Yes, reduced range after a battery swap is a real electrical effect. DECT transmit power in the 660177 handset is tied directly to the voltage the battery delivers under RF load. If the new cell's voltage sags quickly during transmission bursts — common in the first few cycles before the BMS stabilises — the handset reduces transmit power to protect the cell, and effective range shrinks as a result. Run three full charge cycles from the base, and the BMS learns the cell's internal resistance curve. After that, voltage sag during transmission drops and range returns to normal.
