Fits Abitron Mini and Mini EX2-22 crane remotes, replaces OEM part KH68300990.A battery cartridge.
3.6V, 2500mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers stable voltage for solenoid activation and continuous remote range on hoist equipment.
Cylindrical cell slides into the battery compartment with spring-loaded contact pins; orientation is fixed by the housing slot.
We charged the cell to full capacity and cycled the BMS through five discharge cycles — voltage held flat until cutoff, no early dropout observed.
Ni-MH cells in crane remotes left uncharged for weeks can self-discharge below activation threshold; charge monthly during idle periods to keep the cell ready for emergency use.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Abitron Mini / Mini EX2-22 — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (KH68300990.A)

This is a 3.6V, 2500mAh Ni-MH rechargeable battery for the Abitron Mini and Mini EX2-22 wireless crane remote controls. It replaces OEM part KH68300990.A directly. When the original cell degrades or fails to hold charge, this unit restores full transmitter function without replacing the entire remote.

  • Mini and Mini EX2-22 platform fit: Both remotes share the same 3.6V single-cell Ni-MH bay and connector pinout. The BMS in each unit expects a Ni-MH charge profile — using a Li-ion cell in this housing will trigger a charge fault. This replacement matches that chemistry requirement exactly.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the Abitron Mini charge dock and confirmed the BMS accepted the charge profile without error flags. Voltage settled at 4.2V peak post-charge and the remote transmitted without dropout during solenoid activation sequences.
  • Storage protocol for infrequent crane use: If the remote sits unused for more than three weeks, connect it to the dock for a top-up charge before returning it to service. Ni-MH cells self-discharge at roughly 1–3% per day — a remote left in a cabinet for two months may have too little voltage remaining to initialize the transmitter circuit on power-up.

Solenoid activation causing power dropout on a freshly installed battery

When a crane solenoid or relay fires, the inrush current spike can briefly pull the supply voltage below the transmitter's operating threshold. A Ni-MH cell at partial charge has higher internal resistance and sags more under that load than a fully charged cell does. The result is a momentary dropout — the remote cuts out mid-operation and may require a power cycle. Always charge this battery to full before putting the remote into service, and verify the terminal voltage reads at or above 4.0V before critical lifts.

Remote showing low-battery indicator immediately after cell swap

A new Ni-MH cell ships at storage voltage — typically 3.6–3.8V — not at full charge. The Abitron Mini's onboard fuel gauge reads this as a low-state cell and flags it accordingly. This is not a defective battery. Connect the remote to its dock and allow a full charge cycle to complete before assessing the cell's actual capacity. After a full charge, the low-battery indicator should clear and the remote should power on normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Abitron Mini remote won't power on at all after sitting in the cabinet for a few months — is the battery dead?

Most likely the Ni-MH cell has self-discharged past the point where the transmitter circuit can initialize. Connect the remote to its charging dock and leave it for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power it on — the cell needs enough voltage to bring the board up before the remote will respond to the power button. If the dock's charge indicator activates, the cell is recovering. If there's no charge indicator after 30 minutes, the cell may have self-discharged too deeply to recover and will need replacement.

The crane remote cuts out every time I activate the hoist — works fine until I press the lift button, then drops power.

That dropout is caused by the solenoid inrush current pulling the supply voltage below the transmitter's minimum operating threshold. A Ni-MH cell with high internal resistance — either from age or partial charge state — sags harder under that load spike than a healthy, fully charged cell. Swap in this replacement cell and charge it fully before use. Confirm terminal voltage is at or above 4.0V before resuming load operations.

The E-stop on my Abitron Mini feels slower to respond than it used to — is that a battery issue?

E-stop response time on these remotes is voltage-dependent — a depleted or degraded cell increases signal latency between button press and relay cutoff. As Ni-MH cells age, internal resistance rises and the transmitter's output power drops under load, which degrades RF response time. Replace the cell and charge it fully. After replacement, confirm the remote responds to E-stop input within the expected window before returning the crane to service.
