Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Acer Chromebook Spin 713 CP713-3W-57JX — 11.61V Li-ion Replacement Battery (AP19B8M)
This 11.61V, 4650mAh (53.99Wh) Li-ion battery replaces part number AP19B8M in the Acer Chromebook Spin 713 CP713-3W-57JX and compatible models including the Chromebook 515 CB515-1WT-55A8, Swift 3 SF314-59-318R, and Chromebook 317 CB317-1H-C994. It slots into the same bay as the original cell and connects via the existing OEM harness. No modifications are needed.
- Cross-model fit — Spin 713, Chromebook 515, Swift 3, Chromebook 317: These models share the same 11.61V three-cell architecture, OEM connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol, which is why a single part number covers all of them. The BMS on each platform reads the same EEPROM identifiers and accepts the cell without flagging a mismatch.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge, full discharge to hibernate-cutoff, and a second full charge on a Spin 713 unit. The BMS accepted the cell, charge current stepped down correctly at the CV phase, and the fuel gauge IC tracked state-of-charge without error.
- First-cycle calibration after install: After fitting this battery, run one full discharge to the point ChromeOS hibernates the machine, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that typically appears after every cell swap on Acer Chromebook platforms.
Chromebook shutting down at 20–30% shown after battery swap
This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's voltage curve. When the new cell hits a voltage point the IC associates with low charge on the degraded original, it triggers an early shutdown — even though real capacity remains. Under combined CPU and display load, voltage sag accelerates the drop past the cutoff threshold. Run two full discharge-to-hibernate and charge-to-100% cycles. After the second cycle, the fuel gauge IC re-maps its empty-voltage reference to the new cell and the early shutdowns stop.
ChromeOS reporting battery Wh rating as lower than the cell's actual spec
The Wh figure shown in ChromeOS diagnostics pulls from EEPROM data written during the original factory calibration — it does not measure the installed cell directly. A replacement cell with the same chemistry but a fresh EEPROM state can show a different Wh value until the fuel gauge IC completes its calibration cycles. This is not a capacity fault. Run two full discharge-and-charge cycles and the reported Wh figure will converge toward the cell's rated 53.99Wh.

Frequently Asked Questions
ChromeOS is showing my new battery as "Unknown" or 0% health — is the cell faulty?
It is not a faulty cell. The health status in ChromeOS pulls from EEPROM data the fuel gauge IC carries over from the old battery, and that register reads as invalid or empty on a fresh replacement. Run one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After that learn cycle, the BIOS re-initialises the health register and the "Unknown" or poor-health flag clears.
The fuel gauge is jumping erratically — showing 60%, then 45%, then back to 55% within minutes
The fuel gauge IC calibrates its state-of-charge model against the cell's actual voltage curve over the first few cycles. On a new cell, the IC is still using the voltage-to-capacity map from the old battery, which causes the percentage to jump as the curve diverges from its stored reference. This is not a hardware fault. Complete two full discharge-to-hibernate and charge-to-100% cycles and the IC will lock onto the new cell's curve, stabilising the readout.
My replacement battery charges to about 80% and then stops — won't go higher
This is a BIOS-controlled charge limit, not a problem with the replacement cell. Acer's firmware on several Chromebook and Swift 3 models includes an adaptive charging mode or battery care setting that caps charge at 80% to reduce long-term cell wear. Open ChromeOS Settings, go to Device, then Power, and check whether a charge limit or battery saver option is enabled. Disabling it allows the cell to charge to the full 11.61V terminal voltage.
