Fits Acer Iconia Tab 8 models A1-830, A1-830-2Csw-L16T, and A1-830-25601G01nsw, replacing OEM part numbers A1311 and KT.0010M.004.
This 3.7V 4500mAh lithium-polymer cell delivers 16.65Wh to restore full tablet runtime and normal shutdown behavior.
Connector slides into the internal battery slot with a single locking tab — orientation is keyed, no forcing needed.
We ran a full charge-discharge cycle on the bench; the BMS accepted the cell without fault codes and voltage stayed stable under WiFi load.
After installation, fully discharge the tablet to automatic shutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this recalibrates the fuel gauge IC to the new cell and fixes inaccurate percentage display.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Acer Iconia Tab 8 A1-830 — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (A1311 / KT.0010M.004)

This 3.7V, 4500mAh lithium-polymer battery is a direct replacement for the Acer Iconia Tab 8 A1-830 series tablet. It fits the A1-830, A1-830-2Csw-L16T, and A1-830-25601G01nsw variants. Capacity is rated at 16.65Wh and matches the OEM cell footprint at 137.78 × 83.60 × 3.12mm.

  • A1-830 series compatibility: All A1-830 variants share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and 3.7V charging rail. The BMS handshake is identical across these sub-models, so the same cell works across the full range without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on an A1-830 unit. The BMS accepted the cell without flags, charge termination triggered correctly at full voltage, and the protection circuit responded normally to load transitions from the display and wireless stack.
  • Fuel gauge calibration after install: After fitting this battery, run the tablet down to automatic shutoff, then charge it uninterrupted to 100%. This forces the fuel gauge IC to recalibrate against the new cell's actual capacity curve and corrects the inaccurate percentage readings that appear after a swap.

Why the Iconia A1-830 shuts down between 15% and 25% remaining

The A1-830 runs display backlight and Wi-Fi simultaneously at moderate load. This combined draw creates a voltage sag that the fuel gauge IC misreads as a critically low state-of-charge. The protection circuit triggers a shutdown before the cell is actually empty. One full discharge-to-shutoff cycle followed by a complete uninterrupted charge recalibrates the IC and shifts the cutoff point back to the correct voltage threshold.

Fast charging unavailable after battery swap on the A1-830

The A1-830's charge IC runs a negotiation sequence when it first sees a new cell. Until that sequence completes across one full accepted charge cycle, the device defaults to standard charge rates rather than faster input. This is a charge controller behaviour, not a fault with the replacement cell. Plug into the original Acer adapter, let it charge uninterrupted to 100%, and the faster charge rate will be available from the next session. Do not interrupt the first charge before it terminates naturally.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Iconia Tab 8 is showing 60% battery but just shut off — why is the percentage so wrong after I put in the new battery?

The fuel gauge IC on the A1-830 is calibrated to the capacity curve of the original cell. When a new cell goes in, the IC carries over the old calibration and the reported percentage drifts significantly from actual charge state. Run the tablet down to automatic shutoff, then charge it uninterrupted to 100% without unplugging mid-cycle. That single full cycle resets the IC calibration against the new cell and brings the percentage display back in line.

The tablet feels warm near the charging port while the new battery charges — is the charge circuit okay?

Mild warmth during the first few charge cycles on a new lithium-polymer cell is normal. The charge IC ramps current into a fresh cell with a full capacity curve, which generates slightly more heat than charging a degraded cell that accepts less current. If the tablet becomes hot to the touch or the charge stops and restarts repeatedly, check that you are using the original Acer adapter — third-party chargers with incorrect voltage output can cause the charge IC to cycle on and off. With the correct adapter, warmth during charging settles after two or three full cycles.

Battery percentage is dropping much faster than expected from 100% — it goes from full to under 50% quickly then slows down

This is fuel gauge drift, not a capacity problem with the cell. The IC has not yet mapped the new cell's actual voltage-to-capacity curve, so it reports a steep drop across the upper range and then slows as it reaches voltage levels it recognises from the old calibration. Run one complete discharge cycle to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After that single calibration cycle, the percentage curve across the full charge range should track evenly from 100% down to shutoff.
