Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Acer TravelMate B115-M / Chromebook 11 — 15.2V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (AC14B18K)
This is a 15.2V, 3000mAh (45.6Wh) Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Acer TravelMate B115-M, TravelMate B115-MP, Chromebook 11, and Aspire E3-111 series. It replaces OEM part AC14B18K and its variants, including KT.0040G.004 and AP14B8K. The cell matches the original 4-cell Li-Polymer pack in voltage, form factor, and connector pinout.
- TravelMate B115-M and Chromebook 11 platform fit: These models share the same 15.2V four-cell series configuration, connector housing, and BMS communication protocol. One replacement covers both chassis without adapter or modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on a TravelMate B115-M. The BMS handshake completed without fault codes, charge acceptance was normal from the first cycle, and the fuel gauge IC registered the new cell without manual intervention.
- Post-swap learn cycle on TravelMate B-series: After fitting this battery, discharge the laptop fully until it hibernates, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without waking the system. This forces the BIOS battery learn cycle to reset against the new cell and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on this platform.
BIOS reporting battery health as poor immediately after replacement
The TravelMate B115-M stores battery health data in EEPROM on the original cell. When a new cell installs, the BIOS reads stale EEPROM metrics that don't match the fresh chemistry, flagging it as degraded. This is a firmware calibration issue, not a fault with the replacement cell. Run one full discharge-to-hibernate cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% — after two to three of these learn cycles, the BIOS recalculates and the health warning clears.
Laptop shutting down at 20–30% charge shown on screen
This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell's actual voltage curve. The gauge maps an old discharge profile onto the new chemistry, so the reported percentage diverges from the real state of charge. Under combined CPU and display load, the cell hits its actual low-voltage cutoff while the screen still shows 20–30%. Run two full discharge-to-hibernate and full-recharge cycles — after calibration, the gauge tracks the new cell accurately and the early shutdowns stop.

Frequently Asked Questions
Windows is showing my new Acer battery as 0% or "unknown" and won't charge — what's happening?
The fuel gauge IC inside the battery pack is reading EEPROM data left over from the old cell, and the OS is interpreting that as an unrecognised or dead pack. Plug in the charger and leave the laptop completely idle for 30 minutes — the charging circuit on the B115-M sometimes needs a low-current trickle to initialise the BMS handshake on a new cell. If the gauge still reads 0%, discharge fully to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% to force a fresh calibration cycle.
My TravelMate B115-M stops charging at exactly 80% every time — is the new battery faulty?
This is almost always a BIOS-controlled charge limit, not a battery fault. Acer's firmware on this platform includes a battery health mode that caps charging at 80% to reduce cell wear — it is enabled in BIOS or via Acer Care Center. Enter BIOS setup (F2 at boot), locate the Battery Health Mode or similar option under the Power menu, and disable it. The cell will then charge to 100%.
System information is showing the wrong Wh rating for this battery — it says 37Wh instead of 45.6Wh.
The Wh value displayed in Windows or in BIOS comes from the EEPROM on the battery pack, which stores the manufacturer's rated capacity at the time of production. Some AC14B18K variants were rated at a lower Wh in their firmware data even when the physical cell is the same 45.6Wh chemistry. This is a data field mismatch, not a capacity shortfall. Run two full discharge-and-recharge calibration cycles — the reported design capacity in Windows Battery Report will update to reflect the actual cell once the fuel gauge IC has logged real charge data.
