Fits ACTIVEON CX, CX HD, and CX Gold action cameras; replaces OEM part number ACA01RB.
3.7V, 600mAh Li-Polymer cell delivers 2.22Wh for extended video and photo sessions on compact action camera bodies.
Connector slides into the camera battery slot with flat contact orientation; locking tab seats flush against the compartment door.
We ran discharge cycles on the CX body at standard video bitrate; BMS accepted the cell without authentication errors on first boot.
On initial install in the CX, charge the battery fully inside the camera body before heavy shooting — the firmware needs one complete charge cycle to calibrate the battery-remaining display accurately.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

ACTIVEON CX / CX HD / CX Gold — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (ACA01RB)

This is a 3.7V, 600mAh Li-Polymer replacement cell for the ACTIVEON CX, CX HD, and CX Gold action cameras. It matches the OEM part number ACA01RB and fits the compact battery bay on all three camera variants. Carry a spare and swap in the field rather than waiting for a full charge cycle between shoots.

  • CX, CX HD, and CX Gold compatibility: All three models share the same physical bay dimensions, connector pinout, and 3.7V nominal voltage rail — which is why a single cell covers the full CX lineup without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the CX body and confirmed the BMS accepted the cell on the first charge. Voltage held steady across standard recording and photo burst modes with no unexpected cutoffs.
  • First-install charge cycle: Insert the new cell and run one full charge via the camera body or OEM charger before heavy use. Some action camera BMS firmware maps the battery-remaining indicator against a charge curve it only calibrates during the first in-body cycle — skipping this step can cause the indicator to read inaccurately from the start.

Why the ACTIVEON CX battery indicator drops sharply near 30%

The CX uses a voltage-threshold method to estimate charge remaining rather than a fuel-gauge IC. Li-Polymer cells have a flat discharge curve through the mid-range, then voltage drops quickly at the low end. A new replacement cell may have a slightly different discharge curve than the original, which causes the indicator to fall faster than expected once it crosses the lower voltage threshold — typically around 3.5V. One full charge-discharge cycle in the camera body usually tightens the mapping.

ACTIVEON CX showing a dead battery icon immediately after inserting a charged replacement

This is a BMS authentication check the camera runs on insertion — it measures resting voltage before accepting the cell. If the replacement arrived partially discharged from storage, the resting voltage may sit below the camera's acceptance threshold even though the cell is not depleted. Connect the camera to its OEM charger immediately after inserting the cell without powering on first. Once the charger initiates and voltage rises above 3.7V, the camera body will recognise the cell and the icon will clear.

Frequently Asked Questions

My ACTIVEON CX shows a dead battery icon straight after I put in the new cell — is it faulty?

It is not faulty. The camera checks resting cell voltage on insertion, and a new cell that has been in storage can sit below the acceptance threshold even though it still has charge. Do not try to power the camera on. Plug it directly into the OEM charger and let it charge from within the body — once voltage climbs above 3.7V the icon will clear and the camera will boot normally.

The battery percentage on my CX jumps around erratically — it reads 80% then drops to 20% in minutes.

The CX estimates charge level using fixed voltage thresholds, not a fuel-gauge chip. A new Li-Polymer cell has a slightly different discharge curve than the original, so the camera's threshold map does not match the actual cell state until it has been calibrated. Run one complete charge-to-full, then discharge-to-cutoff cycle entirely within the camera body. After that cycle the percentage readout will track the actual cell state accurately.

My ACTIVEON CX records fine at room temperature but the battery dies early in cold weather — why?

Li-Polymer cells lose available capacity as temperature drops because internal resistance rises and the electrochemical reaction slows. At low temperatures the cell voltage sags under load faster than at room temperature, which causes the camera's low-voltage cutoff to trigger earlier — not because the cell is worn, but because the BMS reads a low-load voltage that no longer reflects true remaining capacity. Warm the camera body in an inside pocket between shots and the cell will recover usable voltage once internal temperature rises back toward 15–20°C.
