Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

AEG BS 18C / BS 18G Series — 18V Li-ion Replacement Battery (L1815R / L1830R)
This is an 18V, 1500mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the AEG BS 18C and BS 18G cordless drills, plus the BKS 18, BFL 18, and eleven additional AEG 18V platform tools. It replaces OEM part numbers L1815R and L1830R directly. Voltage and connector pinout match the original pack.
- AEG 18V platform fit: The BS 18C, BS 18G, BKS 18, and BFL 18 share the same 18V slide-rail connector and BMS handshake protocol. Any battery meeting the voltage rail and communication spec fits the full group — no adapters needed.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through repeated motor-start cycles on an AEG 18V drill platform. The BMS handled inrush current spikes at trigger pull without nuisance tripping and held cell balance within spec across the test sequence.
- Motor inrush break-in: On first use, run the drill at half load for two full charge-discharge cycles before driving at maximum torque. This allows the BMS to profile the motor's inrush current draw and calibrate overcurrent thresholds before heavy fastening work begins.
BMS Cutoff on Trigger-Pull Inrush Surge in the BS 18C
The BS 18C motor draws a sharp current spike the instant the trigger closes — far above steady-state running current. If the BMS overcurrent threshold is set conservatively on a new or cold pack, it can interpret that spike as a fault and cut power immediately. This is not a defective battery; it is the protection circuit doing its job before it has profiled the load. Running two break-in cycles at half load teaches the BMS the motor's inrush signature and raises the effective trip threshold to match real-world use.
Pack Drops to 16V Under Load but Reads Full on the Charger
This is voltage sag — internal resistance in aged or cold cells causes the rail voltage to collapse under load even when the resting voltage looks normal. On the BS 18C, it shows up as sluggish chuck speed or the drill bogging mid-screw. Check the slide-rail contacts for oxidation first — dirty contacts add resistance and worsen sag. If contacts are clean, measure cell voltage under load with a multimeter; anything dropping below 15V at the rail under drilling load points to cell degradation rather than a contact issue.

Frequently Asked Questions
My AEG BS 18C cuts out the instant I pull the trigger — why does it keep tripping off immediately?
That cutout on trigger pull is a BMS overcurrent trip caused by the motor's inrush current spike at start. A new or storage-discharged pack has not yet profiled the load, so the protection circuit reads the spike as a fault. Run the drill at half load for two full cycles to let the BMS calibrate its overcurrent threshold to the motor. After break-in, the immediate cutout stops on normal trigger pulls.
The charger light blinks red on this new pack and never starts charging — what's happening?
After storage, cell voltage can drop below the charger's acceptance threshold — typically under 2.5V per cell on an 18V pack. Most AEG chargers refuse to begin a full charge cycle if they detect cells in that range. Some chargers have a recovery or trickle mode; check your charger manual for a "force charge" or "recovery" button and hold it for five seconds. If the charger has no recovery mode, a compatible charger that supports low-voltage wake will bring the pack back up to the 3.0V-per-cell threshold needed to start a normal charge.
My drill runs fine for the first few seconds then bogs down badly under load — is the battery failing?
Sustained load heats both the motor and the cells; when cell temperature rises, internal resistance climbs and the voltage rail sags below what the motor needs to maintain torque. On the BS 18C, this shows up as the drill slowing noticeably mid-drive into hardwood or thick material. Let the pack cool for ten minutes between heavy sequences — the BMS has a thermal cutoff that throttles current before it hard-trips. If bogging starts within the first few seconds even on a cool pack, check the slide-rail contacts and clean them with isopropyl alcohol before suspecting cell failure.
