Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Alcatel One Touch Pixi 4 3.5 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (TLi013A1)
This is a 3.7V, 1300mAh Li-ion cell replacing the TLi013A1 or TLi013A7 original battery in the Alcatel One Touch Pixi 4 3.5. It fits OT-4017F, OT-4017, and OT-4017A variants alongside four additional OT-4017 sub-models. At 52.00 × 48.00 × 4.68mm, it matches the original footprint and connector exactly.
- OT-4017 series compatibility: All OT-4017 variants share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and 3.7V nominal voltage rail. The BMS handshake on each model reads cell voltage and temperature from the same two-wire interface, so one cell works across the full lineup without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through the OT-4017F charge controller and confirmed the BMS accepted the new cell without triggering a protection trip. Charge current ramped normally from pre-charge trickle through constant-current to constant-voltage cutoff at 4.2V.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After installation, let the phone discharge fully until it powers off, then charge uninterrupted to 100% before using it normally. This gives the fuel gauge IC one complete reference cycle against the new cell's discharge curve — skipping it causes percentage jumps or early shutoffs in the first few days.
Why the Pixi 4 3.5 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The OT-4017's fuel gauge IC builds its percentage model from the discharge curve of whichever cell it last fully cycled. When a new cell goes in, that stored curve belongs to the old, degraded battery. The IC maps voltage readings onto the wrong reference, so 3.85V might show as 45% on one boot and 62% on the next. One full discharge-to-shutdown followed by an uninterrupted charge to 4.2V forces the coulomb counter to reset and write a new curve. After that single calibration cycle, percentage reporting stabilises.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This happens when the modem transmits or the screen brightness spikes — both pull current fast enough to drag cell voltage below the BMS cutoff threshold before the fuel gauge catches up. On the Pixi 4 3.5, the BMS trips at approximately 3.0V under load, but the resting voltage at 25% might be 3.65V, making the shutdown look premature. A degraded or freshly installed uncalibrated cell has higher internal resistance, which amplifies the voltage sag during those load spikes. Run the calibration cycle described above first; if shutdowns continue past that point, check that the battery connector tab is fully seated — a loose contact raises effective resistance further.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Alcatel Pixi 4 3.5 won't turn on at all after the new battery sat in a drawer for months — is it dead?
Almost certainly not dead — it's a BMS lockout. When cell voltage drops below roughly 2.5V from extended storage, the protection circuit opens to prevent damage and won't respond to a normal power-on press. Plug it into a charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing any buttons; the charge IC delivers a low-current trickle that nudges the cell back above the BMS re-enable threshold. Once the screen shows a charging indicator, the BMS has re-initialised and the phone will boot normally.
The phone feels warm near the back cover while charging with the new battery — should I be concerned?
A fresh cell has higher internal impedance than a cell that's been cycled a few times, so the charge IC dissipates slightly more heat during the first few charge sessions. On the OT-4017, this typically feels warm rather than hot and settles after three or four full cycles as impedance drops. If the back becomes too hot to hold comfortably, remove the phone from the charger and check that the battery connector is fully latched — a high-resistance contact point multiplies heat generation at the junction. Normal warmth during early cycles is expected and not a fault.
After fitting the new battery, fast charging won't work — the phone just trickle charges from any cable I try.
The Pixi 4 3.5 charge controller handshakes with the battery's BMS before stepping up charge current. On the first cycle with a new cell, the IC sometimes defaults to safe-mode trickle charge until it confirms cell temperature and voltage are within its acceptance window. Let the phone complete one full charge at whatever rate it accepts, then unplug and reconnect — the controller re-runs the handshake with a now-confirmed healthy cell and resumes normal charge current. If trickle persists past two full cycles, check that you're using a charger that actually delivers the required voltage; the OT-4017 expects a 5V input and won't step up current from an undervolting source.
