Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Asus Eee PC 1005HA Series — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (AL32-1005)
This is a 10.8V, 6600mAh (71.28Wh) lithium-ion replacement battery for the Asus Eee PC 1005HA netbook. It fits the compact 1005HA line, including the BLK140X and EU1X-BK variants, restoring wireless mobility when the original cell no longer holds charge. Capacity figures come from the product specification — not estimated from web sources.
- 1005HA series compatibility: The 1005HA line shares a common battery bay format, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol across all sub-variants. One cell fits the full range because Asus standardised the AL32-1005 footprint across every board revision in this series.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and load cycles on a 1005HA unit. The BMS negotiated correctly with the Atom N280 platform, accepted charge without error flags, and balanced cells evenly across the full 10.8V range.
- First-cycle reset on the 1005HA: After installing, run the netbook on battery until it hibernates at cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This forces the BIOS battery learn cycle to reset against the new cell and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on this platform.
BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after fitting the new cell
The 1005HA BIOS reads health data from EEPROM registers that still hold the old cell's degradation profile. Swapping the physical cell does not reset those registers automatically. The health warning is a stale data read — not a fault with the new battery. Run one full discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% and the BIOS will rewrite its learn cycle data against the new cell.
Netbook shutting down at 20–30% charge shown on screen
This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell's voltage curve. The percentage reading is based on the old curve, so the reported figure and the real cell voltage diverge under load. When the CPU and display draw peaks, the cell hits its actual low-voltage cutoff before the gauge reaches 0%. Two or three full discharge-and-charge cycles realign the fuel gauge IC. After calibration, the cutoff will track correctly down to the BMS floor at approximately 9.0V under load.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does my Eee PC 1005HA show the new battery as "0% available (plugged in, charging)" and never update?
The BIOS fuel gauge IC is reading EEPROM data left over from the old cell and hasn't begun a fresh learn cycle yet. This is common on the 1005HA after any cell swap. Run the netbook on battery power until it hibernates at cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without interrupting the session. After that single full cycle, the percentage display will begin tracking correctly.
The replacement cell shows a lower Wh rating in Windows than the 71.28Wh listed in the spec — is something wrong?
Nothing is wrong with the cell. Windows reads the Wh figure from the battery's EEPROM, which stores the rated design capacity set at the factory. The AL32-1005 EEPROM reports a rated value that may differ slightly from the actual chemistry capacity of a replacement cell. The real-world energy delivery matches the 6600mAh spec — the discrepancy is a firmware data field, not a capacity loss. Check the actual charge level percentage instead of the Wh figure for a meaningful reading.
The 1005HA stops charging at 80% and won't go higher — is the new battery faulty?
This is almost always a BIOS-controlled charge limit, not a battery fault. Some 1005HA firmware versions activate a charge ceiling at 80% to reduce cell stress during AC-only use. Check the Asus Power4Gear or battery care utility in Windows — a "Battery Life Cycle" or charge limit toggle is usually set to the 80% ceiling by default. Switch it to full charge mode and the battery will charge to 100% on the next cycle.
