Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Asus Eee PC 703 / 900 Series — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (AL22-703)
This 7.4V, 8800mAh Li-ion battery replaces the AL22-703 and SL22-703 cells used in the Asus Eee PC 703 and related 900-series netbooks. It fits the Eee PC 900a, 900HA, and 900HD alongside the 703. Capacity is 65.12Wh — drawn from product data, not estimated.
- Eee PC 703 and 900-series compatibility: These models share the same 7.4V two-cell battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. The AL22-703 and SL22-703 part numbers are interchangeable across that range because Asus used the same power rail architecture throughout the early Eee PC lineup.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on a 703 unit and monitored BMS handshake, charge acceptance, and cutoff behaviour. The protection circuit responded correctly to both full-charge termination and low-voltage cutoff without triggering false faults.
- Post-install calibration on the Eee PC 703: After fitting, run the battery down to hibernate cutoff — do not interrupt it — then charge uninterrupted to 100%. The Eee PC BIOS uses this full cycle to recalibrate its fuel gauge IC against the new cell. Skipping this step causes the capacity indicator to read inaccurately for weeks.
BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after fitting a new cell
The Eee PC BIOS reads health data stored in the old cell's EEPROM and flags the replacement as degraded before it has run a single cycle. This is a firmware artefact, not a fault with the new cell. The BIOS needs a complete discharge-to-hibernate then uninterrupted full charge before it overwrites the cached health data. After one full learn cycle, the health warning clears and the reported status reflects actual cell condition.
Eee PC shutting down at 20–30% charge shown on screen
This happens when the fuel gauge IC hasn't completed calibration against the new cell's discharge curve. The IC predicts empty based on voltage data from the old, degraded cell — so it calls shutdown earlier than the actual cutoff. It is not a cell defect. Run two full discharge-to-hibernate cycles with uninterrupted charging between them. After the second cycle, the gauge recalibrates and the shutdown point shifts back toward the correct 3.0V per-cell floor.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Eee PC 703 shows 0% or "unknown" battery in Windows right after I put in the new battery — is it dead?
The fuel gauge IC on the Eee PC reads stored EEPROM data from the previous cell and can't interpret the new one until it completes a calibration cycle. Run the battery down to hibernate cutoff without interrupting it, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. Windows will show accurate readings after that first complete cycle. The cell is not faulty.
The battery indicator on my Eee PC jumps around wildly — shows 60%, then 80%, then 45% within minutes.
The onboard fuel gauge IC is still mapping the new cell's voltage-to-capacity curve. Until it has two full discharge-to-recharge cycles logged, it interpolates using old reference points and the percentage readout swings erratically. Let the battery discharge fully to hibernate twice, with a complete uninterrupted charge between each run. After the second cycle, the gauge stabilises.
Windows Battery Report shows a lower Wh design capacity than the 65.12Wh listed — why does it report something different?
The Wh figure Windows reports is pulled from the EEPROM on the cell, which stores the rated value from the original OEM cell's firmware — not the physical capacity of the replacement. This is a data field mismatch, not a capacity shortfall. The actual delivered energy is determined by the cell chemistry and discharge curve, not the EEPROM value. Run a full discharge cycle and check the last full charge capacity field in powercfg /batteryreport — that figure reflects real-world output.
