This is a 3.8V, 5100mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Asus Padfone 2 Tablet, including the A68 variant. It replaces OEM part number C11-P03 — the original cell that powers the tablet during use. If your Padfone 2 no longer holds a charge, shuts down unexpectedly, or won't power on at all, this is the correct replacement cell.

Under combined display and WiFi load, voltage sags faster than the uncalibrated gauge tracks. Running one full discharge-to-shutoff cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% resets the calibration and resolves the premature cutoff.

Fast charging unavailable on Padfone 2 after cell replacement

The Padfone 2 charge IC uses a protocol handshake at the start of each charge session to determine the safe fast-charge rate for the connected cell. On a freshly installed battery, this negotiation may default to slow charge on the first cycle. This is not a fault with the charger or the cell. Connect the original Asus charger and complete one full charge cycle from low to 100% — on the second cycle, the charge IC accepts the higher current rate and fast charging resumes.

This settles after two or three full cycles as the charge controller learns the cell's acceptance rate. The battery percentage on my Padfone 2 drops noticeably faster from 100% down to about 80% than it did before — is the new cell faulty?
