Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Asus U30JC / U35 / U45 Series — 14.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (A31-UL30 / A32-UL30)
This is a 14.8V, 4400mAh (65.12Wh) Li-ion replacement battery for the Asus U30JC and related U-series notebooks. It covers the U30JC, U35, U35JC, U45, and several hundred additional U-series variants that share the same OEM battery platform. Replaces part numbers A31-UL30 through A42-UL80 across the full UL30, UL50, and UL80 sub-families.
- U-series battery platform compatibility: The UL30, UL50, and UL80 lines share a unified 14.8V four-cell battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. That is why a single SKU covers over 250 models — the power rail, latch geometry, and communication bus are identical across the range.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on a U35JC and monitored BMS communication through the SMBus interface. The protection circuit responded correctly to over-discharge cutoff and charge termination at 16.8V. No thermal events occurred across three full cycles.
- Post-install calibration on U-series: After fitting this battery, run the laptop on battery power until it hibernates on low charge, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without waking the system. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears immediately after any cell swap.
Why the U30JC BIOS reports poor battery health after a new cell install
The Asus U-series BIOS reads EEPROM data embedded in the original battery's fuel gauge IC to determine health status. When a replacement cell is fitted, the EEPROM values do not match the BIOS's stored reference — so Windows and the BIOS both flag the battery as degraded or unknown even though the cell is new. This is not a hardware fault. Running a full discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% forces the BIOS to rewrite its battery reference data against the new cell's actual charge curve. After one or two of these learn cycles, the health indicator normalises.
Laptop shuts down at 20–30% charge shown on the gauge
This symptom points to a voltage cliff under load, not a calibration issue. When the CPU and display draw peak current simultaneously, cell voltage drops sharply below the BMS cutoff threshold — even while the fuel gauge still shows capacity remaining. The fuel gauge IC has not yet mapped the new cell's discharge curve, so it misreads remaining capacity. Run two or three full discharge and charge cycles to let the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the replacement cell; after that, the shutoff point should track actual depletion accurately down toward 3.0V per cell.

Frequently Asked Questions
My U30JC is showing the battery as "0% available (plugged in, not charging)" after I fitted the new cell — what's happening?
The fuel gauge IC on the replacement cell holds EEPROM data the BIOS does not recognise, so Windows reports 0% or "unknown" until the learn cycle completes. Disconnect the AC adapter, run the laptop on battery until it hibernates, then plug in and charge to 100% without interrupting it. After one full cycle the fuel gauge syncs with the BIOS and the percentage reads correctly.
Windows Battery Report shows this replacement cell rated at a different Wh than the original — is the cell undersized?
The Wh figure in Battery Report is pulled from the cell's EEPROM, not measured live, and replacement cells often carry a slightly different rated value in firmware than the OEM unit even when the physical chemistry is identical. The actual capacity at 14.8V and 4400mAh is 65.12Wh — match that against the design capacity field in Battery Report, not the full charge capacity line, which only stabilises after two or three calibration cycles.
The charge stops at around 80% and the indicator light goes solid — is the battery faulty?
This is almost always the Asus Battery Health Charging feature in MyASUS or AI Suite, not the battery itself. Asus ships several U-series models with a BIOS-level charge ceiling set to 80% to reduce cell stress during long plug-in sessions. Open MyASUS or Battery Health Charging in the system tray, switch the mode from "Balanced" or "Maximum Lifespan" to "Full Capacity", and the charge will proceed to 100%.
