Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Asus X450J Series — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (A41-X550E)
This is a 14.4V, 2200mAh (31.68Wh) Li-ion replacement battery for the Asus X450J, X450JF, A450E47JF-SL, A450J, and hundreds of related models in this chassis family. It replaces OEM part numbers A41-X550E, 0B110-00220000, 0B110-00220100, 0B110-00220200, and 0B110-00220300. If the original cell no longer holds a charge or fails to power the laptop, this cell restores full portability.
- X450 and A450 chassis compatibility: These models share a common battery bay format, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. The voltage rail and physical form factor match across the entire X550E battery platform, which is why one part number spans hundreds of variants.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles while monitoring BMS communication and cutoff behaviour. The protection circuit responded correctly to overvoltage and deep-discharge thresholds, and the BIOS handshake completed without fault codes on test hardware.
- Post-swap calibration cycle: After fitting this battery, run the laptop on battery power until it hibernates at low charge, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This single cycle resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after a cell swap.
BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after installation
The BIOS reads health data stored in the old cell's EEPROM, and that data does not automatically update when a new cell is fitted. The new cell has no charge history, so the firmware flags it as degraded until a learn cycle writes fresh data. Run one full discharge to hibernate cutoff, then charge to 100% without interruption. After that cycle, the health status clears on most X450 and A450 units.
Laptop shuts down at 20–30% charge remaining
This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell's actual discharge curve. The gauge is still using data from the degraded original cell, so the voltage cliff appears earlier than expected. Under combined CPU and display load, the cell voltage drops faster than the stale calibration predicts, triggering an emergency shutdown. Complete two full discharge-to-hibernate and charge-to-100% cycles — the gauge recalibrates and the cutoff point shifts back toward 5–8% where it belongs.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does Windows show the new battery as "0% available (plugged in)" right after I installed it?
The fuel gauge IC lost its reference data when the old cell was removed, and Windows is reading a blank or zeroed state register before calibration begins. Plug in the charger, leave it connected for a full uninterrupted charge to 100%, then unplug and discharge to hibernate cutoff. After one complete cycle the state-of-charge register resets and Windows reads the correct percentage.
The Asus battery report shows the wrong Wh rating — it says something different from the 31.68Wh on the spec sheet. Is the battery faulty?
The Wh figure shown in the BIOS or MyASUS report pulls from EEPROM data on the cell, which may reflect the rated chemistry value rather than the measured capacity of this specific cell. The 31.68Wh figure in the product spec is the actual cell rating. A mismatch in the software readout does not indicate a fault — run one full calibration cycle and the reported value will align more closely with the actual cell capacity.
The replacement battery stopped charging above 80% — the charger is connected but the percentage won't move past that point.
Many Asus laptops ship with a BIOS-controlled charge limit called Battery Health Charging, set to 80% by default to reduce cell stress during long periods on AC power. This is a firmware setting, not a battery fault. Open MyASUS or the BIOS power settings, find Battery Health Charging, and switch the mode to Full Capacity. The battery will then charge to 100%.
