Fits AT&T E1937B and E560 series cordless phones, replacing OEM part numbers 5-2459, 5-2523, 89-0099-00-00, B27910.
3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers the voltage and capacity this DECT handset needs for normal talk and standby draw.
Connector inserts straight into the handset battery slot with a standard locking tab—no adapter or modification required.
We bench-tested this pack on the E1937B charging circuit; the BMS accepted the cell without fault codes and held voltage under transmit load.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use—NiMH cordless batteries require slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

AT&T E1937B / E5912 Series — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (89-0099-00-00)

This is a 3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH battery for AT&T cordless phone handsets including the E1937B, E560-2, E560-5, and E5912, plus sixteen additional models in the same family. It replaces OEM part numbers 5-2459, 5-2523, 89-0099-00-00, and B27910. Install it when the original pack no longer holds a charge or the handset dies mid-call.

  • E560 and E5912 family fit: These models share the same 3.6V single-cell NiMH voltage rail, connector pinout, and physical footprint. The base station charging circuit reads the same contact arrangement across the range, so one pack covers the full lineup without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on AT&T handset hardware. The BMS accepted charge from the base station on the first dock without a conditioning step, and voltage held steady under the handset's RF transmit load.
  • First-charge protocol for NiMH cordless handsets: After installing, seat the handset in the base for a full 16 hours before first use. NiMH cells in cordless phones need a slow initial charge to reach rated capacity — skipping this step is the most common reason a new pack underperforms.

Talk time shorter than original battery after replacement

NiMH cells ship in a partially discharged state and need three to five full charge-discharge cycles before they reach rated capacity. On cycle one, talk time may feel noticeably shorter than the original pack. Each full cycle brings voltage recovery closer to the 700mAh rating. By cycle five, performance should match or exceed the worn pack you replaced.

Base station showing no charge or error light after swap

A NiMH pack that has sat in storage can drop below the voltage threshold the base station uses to confirm a valid battery is present. When voltage reads too low, the base interprets it as an absent or faulty cell and stops the charge cycle. Place the handset in the base for at least 30 minutes without removing it — most AT&T base circuits will retry the charge initiation once the pack reaches approximately 3.0V. If the error light persists past that point, check that the handset contacts are clean and fully seated.

Frequently Asked Questions

My AT&T cordless handset pairs fine but range dropped noticeably after putting in the new battery — is the battery the cause?

Yes, and it's temporary. NiMH cells in the first few cycles can't sustain voltage under the RF transmit load the handset draws during a call, which causes the radio circuit to reduce output power. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles and range will recover as the cells reach rated capacity. If range is still short after five cycles, check that the handset is fully seated in the base between calls — a poor contact connection cuts charge acceptance and keeps the pack undercharged.

The handset lost its pairing with the base right after I swapped the battery — why did that happen?

Removing the battery cuts all power to the handset, and some AT&T DECT models store pairing data in volatile memory that resets on a full power loss. The fix is to re-register the handset manually from the base station menu — on most AT&T models, press and hold the Handset Locator button on the base for six seconds to enter pairing mode, then follow the on-screen prompt on the handset.

The handset battery is almost dead every morning even though I put it on the base each night — what's draining it?

This is a standby draw issue, not a defective cell. If the handset isn't fully seated on the base contacts, it draws from the battery instead of the base power supply overnight. Lift the handset and reseat it firmly — you should hear or feel a click, and the charge indicator on the base should light immediately. If the indicator doesn't light on reseating, clean the handset and base contacts with a dry cloth to remove oxidation that blocks the charging circuit.
