Fits AudioVox PCD TXT8030 and TXT8030 Razzle phones, replaces BTR-8030 and BTR-8030B batteries.
This 3.7V, 800mAh lithium-ion cell restores full talk and standby time to the TXT8030 after original battery degradation.
Connector slides straight into the factory slot with no adapter needed, locking tab seats flush against the battery door.
We bench-cycled this cell in the TXT8030 firmware — the BMS calibrated cleanly on first charge with no cutoff errors.
On first use after installation, run one complete discharge-charge cycle with fast charging disabled so the fuel gauge IC recalibrates against the new cell curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

AudioVox PCD TXT8030 / TXT8030 Razzle — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BTR-8030)

This is a 3.7V, 800mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the AudioVox PCD TXT8030 and TXT8030 Razzle mobile phones. It replaces OEM part numbers BTR-8030 and BTR-8030B. If your original battery no longer holds a charge through a normal day of calls and messages, this cell restores the phone to its original power spec.

  • TXT8030 and TXT8030 Razzle compatibility: Both variants use the same 3.7V single-cell Li-ion battery bay, identical connector pinout, and the same BMS handshake protocol — so one cell covers both models without any modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on the TXT8030 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, and charge termination triggered correctly at 4.2V per cell.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable any fast-charge option for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the phone's fuel gauge IC learn the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging begins on an uncalibrated cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the TXT8030 after a cell swap

The TXT8030 fuel gauge IC stores a discharge model calibrated to the original cell. A new cell with a slightly different internal resistance profile causes the IC to misread remaining voltage. Under modem transmit load or backlight draw, the actual cell voltage drops faster than the gauge predicts, and the phone shuts off before the display reaches 0%. Running one full discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charging uninterrupted to 100%, forces the coulomb counter to resync with the new cell curve. After that cycle, the percentage readings stabilise.

TXT8030 not powering on after sitting in storage with a flat battery

If the cell discharged below 2.5V during storage, the BMS locks out to prevent damage from charging a deeply depleted lithium cell. The phone will show no response — no charge indicator, no boot screen. Connect the phone to a wall charger, not a PC USB port, and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing any buttons. A wall adapter supplies enough current for the BMS recovery circuit to trickle the cell back above the 2.9V threshold needed to re-enable normal charging. Once the charge LED activates, the lock has cleared.

Frequently Asked Questions

My TXT8030 shows 25% battery and then just cuts off with no warning — is the new cell faulty?

The cell is not faulty. The phone's fuel gauge IC is still using the discharge model it built around your old, degraded cell, so the voltage reading it shows you is wrong. Under the load of a call or the screen at full brightness, the actual cell voltage drops past the cutoff threshold before the gauge catches up. Run one full discharge to automatic shutdown, then charge straight to 100% without interruption — this resets the coulomb counter against the new cell and the shutdowns stop.

The battery percentage on my TXT8030 is jumping around erratically — it went from 60% to 45% in two minutes without me doing anything.

That's the fuel gauge IC recalibrating. It compares stored charge estimates against actual cell voltage in real time, and a new cell's internal resistance curve differs enough from the old one to throw those estimates off for the first few cycles. The jumps narrow after one or two full discharge-charge cycles as the IC builds a new model. Complete two full cycles — discharge to auto-off, charge to 100% — and the percentage display will settle.

My TXT8030 won't power on at all after I installed the replacement battery — no screen, no charge light, nothing.

If the replacement cell arrived in a low state of charge or the phone drained the old cell completely before you swapped it, the BMS may have locked below the 2.5V recovery threshold. Plug into a wall charger — not a laptop USB port — and wait at least 20 minutes without pressing the power button. Wall adapters supply enough current to trigger the BMS trickle-recovery circuit. Once the cell climbs above 2.9V, the charge indicator will activate and the phone will boot normally.
