Fits BASE VARIA smartphones; replaces OEM battery N/A — CS-OT918XL SKU.
3.7V, 1650mAh lithium-ion cell delivers 6.11Wh total energy for standard daily use cycles.
Connector seats flat against the phone's battery contacts; no locking tab — slides straight in.
We ran a full discharge at 500mA load; BMS engaged properly at cutoff, no early shutdown observed.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle — this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve before high-current charging.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

BASE VARIA — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 3.7V, 1650mAh (6.11Wh) Li-ion cell for the BASE VARIA smartphone. It replaces the original battery when capacity has dropped to the point the phone can no longer hold a usable charge through a normal day. Dimensions are 51.83 x 50.78 x 5.41mm — verify these against your existing cell before installation.

  • BASE VARIA fit: The VARIA platform uses a 3.7V nominal cell with a fixed connector orientation tied to the charge IC on the motherboard. Voltage and physical footprint must match exactly — this cell meets both requirements.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the bench and confirmed the BMS accepted the cell without triggering a low-voltage lockout. The charge IC reached full termination correctly at the top-of-charge threshold.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first install: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before reporting accurate percentages to the OS.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This is a voltage cliff problem, not a capacity problem. Under peak load — screen at full brightness, mobile data active, or a call in progress — the cell voltage drops sharply below what the phone's power rail requires. The phone shuts off even though the OS still shows charge remaining. The fuel gauge IC hasn't yet learned where the new cell's voltage curve falls under load. One full discharge-charge cycle with the screen on resolves this in most cases.

OS reporting wrong battery percentage after cell swap

The VARIA's fuel gauge IC uses a coulomb counter calibrated to the original cell's impedance and discharge curve. After a cell swap, that stored profile no longer matches the new cell. The percentage reading drifts — often reading 15–20% higher than actual state of charge. Drain the phone until it shuts off automatically, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without removing the cable. After one full cycle, the coulomb counter resets against the new cell's actual curve.

Frequently Asked Questions

My BASE VARIA shuts off at around 25% after I put the new battery in — is something wrong with the cell?

Nothing is wrong with the cell itself. The fuel gauge IC is still running the discharge profile from the old battery, so the percentage shown doesn't reflect actual voltage under load. When the modem or screen draws a spike of current, the cell voltage drops below the cutoff threshold before the displayed percentage reaches zero. Run one full discharge to automatic shutdown followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% — the coulomb counter will recalibrate and the shutdowns will stop.

Fast charging stopped working after I replaced the battery on my VARIA — it's only charging slowly now.

On the first charge cycle after a cell swap, the USB-PD or proprietary fast-charge handshake sometimes won't negotiate with a new BMS until the cell has been through one standard charge at baseline current. The charge IC is conservative — it defaults to trickle or standard current when it hasn't yet profiled the new cell's impedance. Connect to a standard 5V charger, let the phone charge fully to 100% without interruption, then reconnect to your fast charger. The high-current handshake should re-engage from the second cycle onward.

The VARIA won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is it dead?

The BMS locks out below approximately 2.5V per cell to prevent damage from deep discharge. A cell that has self-discharged in storage can drop below that threshold, and the phone won't respond to a normal power button press. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything. The charge IC will apply a trickle pre-charge to bring the cell voltage above the BMS recovery threshold, after which normal charging resumes. If the charging indicator appears, the cell is recovering.
