Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

BBK VIVO Y1 / V303 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BK-B-36A)
This is a 3.7V, 1050mAh Li-ion cell built to the BK-B-36A specification. It fits the VIVO Y1 and VIVO V303 smartphones. Voltage and connector match the original, so the charge IC and fuel gauge IC can communicate with the new cell without modification.
- VIVO Y1 and V303 platform fit: Both models run the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake. The 64.17 × 37.65 × 4.72mm cell seats flush, and the NTC thermistor line aligns correctly so the charge IC does not flag a thermal fault on first boot.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through a full discharge-charge sequence and monitored BMS communication. The protection circuit responded correctly to charge termination at 4.2V and triggered undervoltage cutoff cleanly below 3.0V per cell.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle at standard rate. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before any high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated state.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the VIVO Y1 after a cell swap
This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity problem. When the modem, screen, and CPU pull current simultaneously, a freshly installed cell that hasn't been calibrated can drop below the BMS cutoff threshold faster than the fuel gauge IC expects. The OS reads 25% remaining, but the instantaneous voltage under load dips below 3.2V and the BMS cuts power. One full discharge-charge cycle at standard charge rate — with fast charging off — resolves it by syncing the coulomb counter to the actual cell discharge curve.
Phone warm near the battery compartment on the first charge cycle
A new cell starts with slightly higher internal impedance than a broken-in one. During the first charge cycle, the charge IC on the VIVO Y1 pushes current into that higher impedance, which dissipates more heat than usual. This is normal on cycle one and typically reduces after two to three full cycles as impedance settles. If warmth continues past the third full charge, check that the battery flex connector is fully seated — a partial connection forces higher contact resistance at the pin and generates sustained heat.

Frequently Asked Questions
My VIVO Y1 shows 25% battery then shuts off immediately — is the new cell faulty?
Almost always no. This is a fuel gauge IC calibration mismatch — the coulomb counter is still mapped to the old cell's discharge curve, so it misreads how much voltage is left under load. The modem and screen pull enough current to drop the cell below BMS cutoff before the OS percentage catches up. Run one full discharge down to automatic shutdown, then a full charge at standard rate with fast charging disabled, and the percentage should track correctly.
Fast charging stopped working after I replaced the battery on my VIVO Y1 — it only charges slowly now.
On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC can refuse to negotiate the fast-charge protocol until it has completed at least one full standard-rate cycle and confirmed the new cell's thermal and voltage response. This is a BMS handshake issue, not a hardware fault. Let the phone complete one full charge at standard rate, then re-enable fast charging in settings — most units resume fast charge on the second cycle without any further action.
My VIVO Y1 won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat uninstalled for a few weeks before I fitted it.
Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage, and if the BK-B-36A cell dropped below approximately 2.5V before installation, the BMS will have entered lockout mode to prevent damage. Connect the phone to a charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without attempting to power it on — the charge IC on the VIVO Y1 runs a trickle pre-charge circuit that slowly recovers a locked-out cell back above the reinitialisation threshold of around 2.9V, after which a normal boot becomes possible.
