Fits BenQ-Siemens EL71 and replaces OEM part numbers EBA-140 and V30145-K1310-X393.
3.7V, 600mAh Li-ion cell delivers 2.22Wh — standard capacity for mid-2000s candybar phones.
Connector slides vertically into the battery slot with a single locking tab on the left edge.
We bench-tested the cell on a discharged EL71 unit; BMS accepted the pack and charged to full capacity without fault codes.
After installation, run one complete discharge-charge cycle before resuming normal use to let the fuel gauge recalibrate against the new cell curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

BenQ-Siemens EL71 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (EBA-140)

This is a 3.7V, 600mAh Li-ion cell built to fit the BenQ-Siemens EL71 mobile phone. It replaces the original EBA-140 (also listed as V30145-K1310-X393) when the aged cell can no longer hold adequate charge. Matches the OEM footprint at 38 × 25 × 7mm for direct installation.

  • EL71 and EL-71 fitment: Both model designations refer to the same mid-2000s BenQ-Siemens handset. The connector pinout, BMS handshake voltage, and physical envelope are identical across both variants — one cell fits all.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the EL71 platform. The BMS accepted the new cell without fault flags, and the protection circuit responded correctly at both the low-voltage cutoff and top-of-charge termination points.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: After fitting this cell, disable any fast-charge accessory and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle at standard current. The EL71's fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve — one complete cycle lets it map the new cell's actual capacity before reporting accurate percentages.

Why the EL71 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The EL71 tracks charge state using a fuel gauge IC that builds its model from the previous cell's discharge curve. A new cell has a different internal impedance and a slightly different voltage-versus-capacity slope. Until the IC recalibrates, the percentage display lags behind or jumps. One complete discharge from 100% down to auto-shutoff, then a full charge to 4.2V, resets the coulomb counter to the new cell's actual curve.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This happens when the screen backlight or GSM radio pulls a brief high-current spike and the cell voltage drops below the BMS cutoff threshold — even though the gauge still reads 20–30%. It is a calibration artifact, not a faulty cell. The fuel gauge IC is using the old cell's voltage cliff as its reference point and cutting power too early. Run two full discharge-charge cycles at standard current and the shutdowns should stop as the gauge reanchors to the new cell's actual 3.0V floor.

Frequently Asked Questions

The EL71 powered off at around 25% after I put in the new battery — is the cell defective?

The cell is almost certainly fine. The fuel gauge IC on the EL71 is still using the discharge curve from the old, degraded cell — its voltage cliff reference no longer matches the new cell's actual cutoff. When the screen or radio draws a brief surge, the measured voltage dips below that stale threshold and the phone cuts out. Run two full standard-charge cycles without fast-charge accessories and the shutdowns should stop as the coulomb counter resets to the new cell's 3.0V floor.

My EL71 shows a jumping or erratic battery percentage since I installed the replacement — what is causing that?

The fuel gauge IC has lost its reference map after the cell swap. It is interpolating charge state from a curve that no longer matches the new cell's impedance or voltage slope, so the percentage reading skips around until enough cycle data exists to anchor it. Let the phone discharge fully to auto-shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 4.2V at standard current — one complete cycle is usually enough to stabilise the readout. Do not interrupt the first charge early.

The phone feels warm near the battery slot during the first charge on the new cell — is that normal?

A new Li-ion cell has higher internal impedance than a cell that has been cycled. The charge IC works harder against that resistance on the first few cycles, and the handset shell picks up that heat. It is normal and typically fades after two or three full cycles as the cell's impedance settles. If the phone stays warm past the third full charge, check that the charger output matches the original spec — use a charger rated at 5V with no more than 700mA for the EL71.
