This is a 14.4V, 4400mAh (63.36Wh) Li-ion battery for the BlueMedia MS-1006 and MS-1012 notebooks. It matches the original voltage rail and connector, so no adapter or modification is needed. Fit both models share the same battery bay geometry and BMS communication protocol.
- MS-1006 and MS-1012 platform fit: Both models use the same 14.4V four-cell configuration and identical connector pinout. The BMS handshake uses the same SMBus address across the two models, so the battery communicates correctly with either machine without firmware conflict.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and load cycles on the MS-1006 platform. The BMS reported capacity accurately to the OS after two calibration cycles, and charge termination triggered cleanly at 16.8V with no thermal event.

This happens when the fuel gauge IC hasn't completed a calibration cycle against the new cell. The percentage shown on screen is calculated against the old cell's discharge curve, so the OS calls a low-battery shutdown while actual charge remains. The cell itself is not at fault — the gauge IC needs two or three full discharge-to-charge cycles to map the new cell's voltage curve accurately. After those cycles, the cutoff point should track correctly down to the 5–8% range where the BIOS-set low-voltage floor sits.

The system info on my MS-1006 shows a different Wh rating than the battery I just installed — is something wrong with the cell?
Nothing is wrong. The Wh figure shown in system info is pulled from the old cell's EEPROM-stored rated capacity, not measured from the new pack in real time. The MS-1006 BIOS caches that value and only updates it after a full battery learn cycle has completed. Run a full discharge to hibernate-cutoff followed by a complete uninterrupted charge, and the reported Wh value will update to reflect the 63.36Wh rating of the new cell.
My MS-1006 won't charge the new battery above 80% — is the battery defective?
This is almost always a BIOS-controlled charge limit, not a cell fault. BlueMedia's MS-series BIOS includes a battery protection mode that caps charging at 80% when it detects a new or uncalibrated pack, or when a charge-limit setting is active in the BIOS power menu. Enter the BIOS setup utility, navigate to the power or battery section, and confirm that the charge limit is set to 100%. If the setting is already at 100%, complete one full discharge-to-hibernate cycle and the charge ceiling should lift.
