Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

BoostMobile Transform Ultra / SPH-M930 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (EB484659VA)
This is a 3.7V, 1500mAh Li-ion battery for the Samsung Transform Ultra (SPH-M930), sold through Boost Mobile. It replaces OEM part numbers EB484659VA and EB484659VU. Swap it in when the original cell no longer holds a usable charge through a normal day of calls, messaging, and app use.
- Transform Ultra / SPH-M930 fit: Both model designations share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake — the SPH-M930 is the hardware model number behind the Boost-branded Transform Ultra retail name. One battery covers both.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the SPH-M930 platform. The BMS accepted the charge handshake without fault codes, and the protection circuit triggered correctly at low-voltage cutoff — no unexpected trips during normal load cycles.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After fitting this battery, disable any fast-charge accessories and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle at standard current. The fuel gauge IC on the Transform Ultra calibrates against the cell's discharge curve — skipping this step can leave the coulomb counter mismatched to the new cell from the first charge onward.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Transform Ultra after a cell swap
This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still reading the old cell's discharge curve. When the modem fires up for a call or the screen brightness spikes, the new cell's voltage drops faster than the IC expects — the phone sees what looks like a valid charge level right up until the voltage collapses under load. The BMS interprets that drop as a protection event and cuts power. Running one full discharge cycle down to automatic shutdown, then charging uninterrupted to 100%, forces the coulomb counter to remap to the new cell's actual voltage curve. After that cycle, the reported percentage tracks the real state of charge correctly.
Phone warm near the battery compartment on the first few charges
A new Li-ion cell has higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell. In the first two or three charge cycles, the charge IC pushes current into a cell that hasn't yet settled its internal resistance — that extra impedance converts some charge energy to heat. This is normal and resolves as the cell cycles. If the phone stays warm past the third full charge cycle, check that the back cover is seated flush — a gap traps heat against the battery. Internal temperature during normal break-in should not exceed what feels uncomfortable to hold; if it does, stop charging and check the charge current setting on any third-party adapter.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Transform Ultra shuts off at around 25% battery — why does this happen with a new cell?
The fuel gauge IC on the SPH-M930 is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. When the modem or display draws a current spike, the new cell's voltage drops faster than the IC predicts, and the phone reads it as a protection cutoff — not a true empty. Run one full uninterrupted discharge to automatic shutdown, then charge straight to 100% without interruption. After that single cycle, the coulomb counter remaps to the new cell and the shutdowns stop.
The battery percentage jumps around erratically after I installed this replacement — is the cell faulty?
It's not a faulty cell — it's the fuel gauge IC recalibrating. The Transform Ultra's coulomb counter tracked the degradation curve of the original cell over months or years. A new cell with a different impedance profile throws those readings off immediately. Let the phone complete two full discharge-charge cycles at standard charge current — no fast-charge adapters. By the end of the second cycle, the IC has enough data points to track the new cell accurately and the percentage stabilises.
The phone won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in storage for a few months — is it dead?
The BMS locks out below approximately 2.5V per cell to prevent damage from deep discharge. A battery stored without use can self-discharge past that threshold, triggering a protection lockout that looks identical to a completely dead cell. Connect the phone to its original wall adapter — not a USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without attempting to power it on. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell to bring it above the BMS unlock threshold, after which the phone will boot normally.
