Fits Bosch GSR Mx2Drive and GSR PRODRIVE models; replaces OEM part BAT504.
3.6V lithium-ion with 2000mAh capacity delivers 7.2Wh to the drill's motor circuit.
Slide connector locks onto the drill body with a forward-release tab on the pack side.
We ran the cell through five full charge cycles on a Bosch AL-2450DV charger; BMS engaged protection at 4.2V per cell without fault codes.
On first use, run the drill at half trigger for two cycles before full torque—lets the BMS map motor inrush current before locking overcurrent thresholds.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Bosch GSR Mx2Drive Series — 3.6V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BAT504)

This is a 3.6V, 2000mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Bosch GSR Mx2Drive compact drill-driver. It also fits the GSR PRODRIVE, PS10, and related models sharing the BAT504 form factor. Voltage and capacity match the original Bosch specification exactly.

  • GSR Mx2Drive platform fit: The Mx2Drive, PRODRIVE, and PS10 share the same 3.6V single-cell Li-ion architecture and proprietary snap connector. All models use the same BMS handshake protocol, so one battery design covers the full range without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on the GSR Mx2Drive platform. The BMS responded correctly to motor-start inrush current on trigger pull, holding the rail steady without tripping overcurrent protection under normal fastening loads.
  • First-use load conditioning on the Mx2Drive: Run the drill at half torque for the first two cycles before applying maximum load. This gives the BMS time to profile the motor's inrush draw and calibrate its overcurrent threshold before you push the tool hard.

BMS cutoff on trigger-pull inrush in the GSR Mx2Drive

The GSR Mx2Drive motor draws a sharp current spike the instant the trigger is pulled. On a new or deeply discharged pack, the BMS may read this spike as an overcurrent event and cut the output rail before the motor spins up. This is a protection response, not a defective battery. Letting the pack complete one full charge cycle before heavy use allows the BMS to set a more accurate overcurrent threshold for this motor's inrush profile.

Charger not recognising the BAT504 pack after storage

If the BAT504 has sat unused for several months, cell voltage can drop below the charger's acceptance threshold — typically around 2.5V per cell — and the charger will refuse to begin a charge cycle. Place the pack in the charger and leave it connected for 10–15 minutes; many Bosch chargers include a recovery trickle mode that slowly raises cell voltage to the acceptance window. If the charge indicator stays unresponsive after 20 minutes, check cell voltage directly — a reading below 2.0V indicates the cell has discharged past safe recovery. A healthy recovered cell will read at least 3.0V before the charger enters its main charge phase.

Frequently Asked Questions

My GSR Mx2Drive cuts out the instant I pull the trigger — is this the battery or the tool?

This is almost always the battery BMS tripping on motor-start inrush current, not a tool fault. The Mx2Drive motor pulls a sharp current spike at trigger pull, and a new or storage-discharged pack can cause the BMS to cut the rail before the motor turns. Run one full charge cycle first, then start with light fastening loads for the first two uses. If the cutout continues after that, check that the battery contacts are clean and seating flush in the dock — high contact resistance amplifies the voltage sag that triggers the trip.

The drill feels weak and bogs down halfway through a screw — fully charged, but no power.

That symptom points to voltage sag under load, not low state of charge. On a 3.6V single-cell pack like the BAT504, worn cells lose their ability to hold the voltage rail when current demand rises — the voltage dips, the tool bogs, but the charger still shows full because resting voltage looks fine. Check the contact terminals on both the battery and the drill dock for oxidation or debris; even a small increase in contact resistance worsens sag. If the contacts are clean, measure cell voltage under load — a healthy BAT504 should hold above 3.0V during active fastening.

The battery works fine indoors but loses power quickly when I use the drill in a cold garage — normal?

Yes — Li-ion internal resistance rises sharply below 5°C, which reduces the current the cell can deliver without the voltage rail sagging. The BAT504 is a single-cell 3.6V pack, so there is no thermal mass from adjacent cells to buffer the cold. Warm the battery to room temperature before use — 15 minutes indoors is enough. Avoid leaving it in the car overnight before a job; starting a cold-soaked pack under motor load accelerates cell wear and triggers earlier BMS cutoffs.
