Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Bose QuietComfort 20 — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (PR-452035)
This 3.7V 240mAh lithium-polymer cell replaces the original PR-452035 battery in the Bose QuietComfort 20 (QC20) in-ear headphones. It powers both the active noise cancellation circuit and audio playback. When the original cell degrades, ANC weakens or drops out entirely before the audio does — this replacement restores both functions.
- QuietComfort 20 and QC20 fit: Both model names refer to the same hardware revision. They share the same battery footprint at 36.30 × 20.20 × 4.60mm, the same 3.7V nominal rail, and the same PR-452035 part number. No adapter or modification needed.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the QC20 ANC circuit under combined noise-cancellation and audio load. The BMS held within the expected charge and discharge cutoff thresholds, and the ANC module received stable voltage throughout the draw cycle.
- ANC module charging tip: The QC20's noise-cancellation circuit draws current even when the headphones are not playing audio. If the battery sits discharged for weeks, charge the unit fully via the Lightning or micro-USB port before switching ANC on — powering the ANC circuit from a deeply discharged cell can cause the module to reset mid-use on the first session.
Why ANC cuts out before audio does on a degraded QC20 battery
The QC20 runs two separate draws from the same cell: the audio path and the active noise-cancellation DSP. The ANC circuit has a higher minimum operating voltage than the audio path. As the cell ages and internal resistance rises, voltage sag under combined load drops the supply below the ANC threshold first — audio keeps playing but noise cancellation shuts off. A fresh cell with lower internal resistance maintains voltage above both thresholds across the full discharge curve.
ANC indicator light stays on but noise cancellation feels weak after replacement
This happens when a new cell is installed at storage voltage — typically around 3.6V — rather than after a full charge cycle. The ANC module powers on but the DSP cannot sustain full processing depth without a stable voltage above 3.7V. Charge the QC20 to 100% before the first use. If the symptom persists after a full charge, check that the battery contacts inside the housing are clean and making firm contact with the cell terminals.

Frequently Asked Questions
My QC20 cuts out completely mid-listen even though the LED showed it was charged — what's happening?
A cell sitting at storage voltage (around 3.6V) will report as charged to the indicator circuit but cannot sustain the combined ANC and audio load under real use. The BMS trips the low-voltage cutoff within minutes of the draw beginning. Charge the headphones fully via USB until the indicator confirms 100%, then test. If cutoff still occurs, the internal resistance of the old cell has likely risen past the point where charging recovers it — that confirms the cell needs replacing.
The ANC sounds weaker on the left side after fitting a new battery — is the battery faulty?
This is almost always a contact issue, not a cell fault. The QC20 battery sits in a tight housing, and if the replacement cell is not seated flush, one terminal loses consistent contact under the flex of normal wear. Open the housing, reseat the cell so both terminals make firm contact, and reassemble. If the left-channel ANC remains uneven, check that the ribbon connector to the ANC module on that side is fully clipped in.
My QC20 gets noticeably warm near the inline module during long listening sessions — is that normal with a new battery?
Some warmth is expected. The inline module houses both the battery and the ANC DSP in a very small enclosure, and sustained combined draw generates heat in that confined space. What is not normal is heat that makes the module uncomfortable to hold, which points to the cell discharging faster than the charge circuit can manage — often caused by a mismatched cell with higher internal resistance. Confirm the replacement cell is rated at 3.7V and 240mAh; if the module stays uncomfortably hot after a full charge cycle, the cell specification is likely off.
