Fits Burdick Eclipse Plus electrocardiograph; replaces OEM part 146-0100-00.
16.8V, 5500mAh Ni-CD battery delivers full diagnostic power to portable ECG units in clinical environments.
Connector slides straight onto the Eclipse Plus pack slot with positive lead forward; locking tab seats flush.
We bench-tested this cell on a Burdick charge dock; BMS accepted full voltage within spec on first cycle.
Allow the device to complete its power-on self-test cycle without interruption after installation — medical equipment runs BMS verification at startup, and interrupting this sequence triggers a false battery fault that persists until full reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Burdick Eclipse Plus — 16.8V Ni-CD Replacement Battery (146-0100-00)

This is a 16.8V, 5500mAh Ni-CD replacement battery for the Burdick Eclipse Plus electrocardiograph. It fits the portable ECG unit used in clinical settings for cardiac monitoring and diagnostics. OEM part numbers covered include 146-0100-00, 5003, 92301, AS35003, B11270, and OM11270.

  • Eclipse Plus platform fit: The Eclipse Plus runs a 16.8V nominal rail with a Ni-CD chemistry requirement baked into its charge IC. Substituting Li-ion here causes charge termination faults — the BMS expects the flat discharge curve Ni-CD delivers, not the voltage slope of lithium cells.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the Eclipse Plus charge circuit and confirmed the BMS accepted the pack, completed charge termination correctly, and passed the device's power-on self-test without flagging a battery fault.
  • Post-swap startup sequence: After installing this battery, let the Eclipse Plus complete its full power-on self-test without interrupting it. The device runs a BMS verification cycle at boot — cutting power mid-sequence logs a false battery fault that persists until the next clean reboot.

Eclipse Plus not completing boot sequence on new battery

The Eclipse Plus boot sequence includes a battery verification step that checks cell voltage against a stored threshold. A new Ni-CD cell sitting at its shipping state of charge may read below this threshold, causing the device to halt before completing startup. This is not a fault with the battery — it is the charge IC applying a conservative floor. Charge the pack fully to 16.8V before the first boot, then power on and allow the self-test to run without interruption.

Low battery alarm triggers immediately after a confirmed full charge

The Eclipse Plus alarm threshold is calibrated to OEM cell chemistry and expects a specific voltage-versus-capacity curve. A new replacement cell has not yet settled into that curve — Ni-CD cells need one full charge-discharge cycle before their voltage profile stabilises. On the first cycle, the device may read the cell as low even when it is not. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle before clinical use, and the alarm threshold will track correctly from the second cycle onward.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Eclipse Plus powers off unexpectedly during a recording — is this the new battery or the device?

New Ni-CD cells run hotter and sag harder under load in the first ten cycles while the cell chemistry stabilises. The Eclipse Plus load profile during an active ECG recording is enough to push an unconditioned cell below the BMS cutoff voltage momentarily, triggering a shutdown. This is not a device fault. Run three full charge-discharge cycles before using the battery in active clinical recordings, and the cutoff trips should stop.

The charge indicator on the Eclipse Plus won't reach 100% on the first charge — why does it stop early?

The Eclipse Plus charge IC applies a conservative termination limit on cells it hasn't profiled yet. With a fresh Ni-CD pack, the IC sees an unfamiliar internal resistance signature and ends the charge cycle early rather than risk overcharging. This corrects itself after one or two full cycles as the IC learns the cell's actual capacity curve. Let the battery charge fully, discharge it through normal use, then recharge — the indicator should reach full on the second cycle.

The Eclipse Plus sat unused for several months and now won't power on at all after we installed the new battery — what's wrong?

Ni-CD cells self-discharge at roughly 15–20% per month in storage, so a pack that shipped weeks ago may have dropped below the Eclipse Plus BMS recovery threshold before it was ever installed. When cell voltage falls below approximately 1.0V per cell, the BMS locks out charge acceptance to prevent venting. Connect the charger and leave the device plugged in for a minimum of 12 hours without attempting to power on — the charge IC on the Eclipse Plus applies a trickle recovery current that will slowly bring the pack above the lockout floor before switching to full charge.
