Fits Burton UV604 LED magnifier, replaces OEM part number 4000428 and 60000412.
3.7V lithium-ion cell with 2600mAh capacity delivers full brightness and LED illumination for handheld inspection work.
Connector slides into the battery slot with positive contact facing forward; locking tab seats flush with the housing.
We bench tested this cell in the UV604 platform — BMS accepted charge without fault codes, voltage held steady under backlight load.
Use the device at 50% screen brightness during the first full charge cycle — high brightness draws current that confuses the battery indicator after a cell swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Burton UV604 LED — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (4000428)

This is a 3.7V, 2600mAh Li-ion battery for the Burton UV604 LED electronic magnifier. It fits the handheld magnifier unit used for close-up visual inspection with LED illumination. Swap it in when the original cell no longer holds a charge through a full inspection session.

  • UV604 LED fit: The UV604 LED runs its display backlight and LED illumination array from a single 3.7V cell. This battery matches that voltage rail and the BMS handshake expected by the magnifier's charge management circuit, so the fuel gauge reads correctly after installation.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a UV604 LED unit. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, and the battery indicator tracked state of charge accurately across the full discharge curve.
  • First-cycle brightness tip: Run the device at 50% screen brightness during the first full charge cycle. High brightness pulls additional current from a fresh cell, which can cause the battery indicator to misread on that initial cycle and settle inaccurately for subsequent cycles.

Why the UV604 LED screen flickers at maximum brightness

The backlight driver on the UV604 LED is the single largest current draw on the 3.7V cell. When the cell ages, its internal resistance rises and voltage sags under that peak load. The backlight controller interprets the voltage sag as an unstable supply and briefly cuts drive current, which shows up as visible flicker. A fresh cell restores the voltage floor and eliminates the sag the driver was reacting to.

Image colour shifting before the battery indicator shows low

The display driver IC on the UV604 LED is voltage-sensitive — colour reproduction starts to shift when the cell drops below approximately 3.5V, well before the low-battery threshold triggers. The battery indicator is calibrated to trip at a lower cutoff point, so the display shows colour drift while the gauge still reads 20–30%. This is a cell voltage issue, not a display fault. Replacing the battery restores the operating voltage above the display driver's minimum stable threshold.

Frequently Asked Questions

My UV604 LED magnifier screen keeps flickering even though the battery shows half full — what's causing it?

The backlight is the dominant current draw on the 3.7V cell, and an aged cell's internal resistance causes voltage to sag under that load even when state of charge still reads mid-range. The backlight driver detects the unstable supply voltage and briefly drops drive current — that's the flicker. The battery gauge doesn't track internal resistance, only charge level, so it doesn't flag the problem. Replace the cell and confirm resting voltage sits at or above 3.7V before fitting.

The colours on my UV604 LED look washed out or shifted, but the battery indicator isn't showing low — is the screen broken?

The display driver IC requires a stable voltage above approximately 3.5V for accurate colour output. As the cell degrades, it drops below that threshold under backlight load before the low-battery warning triggers — so colour shifts while the gauge still shows charge remaining. It's a cell voltage problem, not a display fault. Fit a new cell and run a full charge cycle to verify the indicator tracks correctly.

My UV604 LED won't charge — the charging light doesn't come on at all. What should I check first?

The USB charging circuit on the UV604 LED requires a minimum input voltage to initialise — a low-output USB port or a worn cable can fall below that threshold and the circuit simply won't start. Try the original Burton charger or a USB adapter rated at 5V/1A or higher with a short, undamaged cable. If the charging light still doesn't activate, the cell may have discharged below the BMS recovery threshold; leave the charger connected for 15–20 minutes to allow the trickle-charge recovery stage to begin.
