Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Burton UV604 LED — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (4000428)
This is a 3.7V, 3400mAh lithium-ion battery for the Burton UV604 LED electronic magnifier. It replaces OEM part numbers 4000428 and 60000412. The UV604 LED is a handheld magnifier used for reading, jewellery inspection, and detailed visual work where consistent backlight power matters.
- UV604 LED fitment: The UV604 LED uses a single-cell 3.7V Li-ion pack with a BMS that monitors both backlight draw and cutoff voltage. Cell voltage, connector pitch, and BMS handshake all need to match — this battery meets all three.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through the UV604 LED's charge circuit and ran the LED backlight at full brightness. The BMS held the cutoff threshold correctly and the charge indicator behaved as expected throughout the cycle.
- First-cycle brightness setting: Run the device at 50% screen brightness during the first full charge cycle. High brightness pulls extra current from a freshly installed cell and can cause the battery indicator to read inaccurately until the BMS calibrates to the new cell's capacity curve.
Why the UV604 LED screen flickers on a new battery at maximum brightness
The UV604 LED backlight is the dominant current draw in the device. At maximum brightness, the backlight pulls enough current to create a voltage sag at the cell terminals — even on a fully charged cell. If the BMS sees the terminal voltage dip below its sag threshold during that draw spike, it briefly cuts output and the screen flickers. This is not a faulty battery. Dropping brightness one or two steps eliminates the sag event and stabilises the display.
Image colour shifting before the battery indicator shows low
The UV604 LED's display driver is voltage-sensitive. As cell voltage drops through the 3.5–3.6V range, the backlight dims and colour temperature shifts before the battery indicator triggers its low warning. This happens because the low-battery threshold is set conservatively to protect the cell, but the display shows the effect of voltage drop earlier. If colours look warm or the image looks dim and the indicator still shows charge remaining, the cell is approaching its lower discharge curve. Charge the device when colour shift first appears — do not wait for the low-battery alert.

Frequently Asked Questions
The UV604 LED won't charge — it's plugged in but nothing happens. What's wrong?
The UV604 LED charging circuit requires a minimum input voltage to initialise — some USB power banks and low-output ports fall below that threshold and the circuit simply won't start. Use the original Burton charger or a wall adapter rated at 5V/1A or higher. If the device has been left fully discharged for an extended period, the BMS may have tripped into deep-discharge protection; leave it connected to a wall charger for 15–20 minutes before expecting the indicator to respond.
The battery drains noticeably faster when I use the UV604 LED at full brightness — is the new cell defective?
It is not defective. The LED backlight is by far the largest current draw in the magnifier, and at maximum brightness it pulls enough load to move through the cell's capacity significantly faster than at mid-brightness. This is a characteristic of the hardware, not the cell. Reduce brightness to 60–70% and capacity use drops in proportion — the battery indicator will reflect the difference within one full cycle.
The UV604 LED powered off suddenly during use and now won't turn back on, even though the battery was showing charge.
This is a BMS over-discharge trip. If the backlight caused a voltage sag that pushed terminal voltage below the BMS cutoff threshold — even momentarily — the BMS shuts output off as a protection measure. Connect the device to a wall charger immediately. After 10–15 minutes of charge input, the BMS re-initialises and the device should power on normally. If it does not respond after 20 minutes on the charger, disconnect and reconnect — this resets the charge circuit handshake.
