Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Caltta E350 EChat POC — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (F73001A)
This 3.8V, 4000mAh Li-Polymer battery is a direct replacement for the Caltta E350 EChat POC, a push-to-talk over cellular (PoC) portable radio. It fits the E350 EChat POC platform and carries OEM part number F73001A. Voltage and capacity match the original pack specification from Caltta.
- E350 EChat POC platform fit: The E350 uses a 3.8V Li-Polymer cell with a BMS tuned to PoC transmit current profiles — brief but repeated spikes as PTT is pressed over a cellular data session. This replacement pack uses the same voltage rail and connector geometry as the F73001A original, so the BMS handshake completes on first boot without manual configuration.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated PTT transmit events on the E350 bench unit. The BMS handled transmit current spikes without triggering overcurrent cutoff, and the radio held its cellular registration throughout each test cycle.
- First insertion into the E350 charger dock: If the dock shows a fault LED on first insertion, remove the pack, wipe the gold contact strip with a dry cloth, and reseat firmly. The E350 dock requires a clean contact cycle to accept the new BMS handshake before it begins the charge cycle.
Why the E350 EChat drops to reduced TX power mid-shift on a new pack
PoC radios draw current in short, sharp bursts each time PTT opens a voice session over the cellular network. If cell impedance is high — common in a new pack that shipped at storage voltage — the voltage rails sags under that burst load and the radio steps down transmit power to protect the RF module. This is not a faulty battery. Running two or three full charge-discharge cycles brings cell impedance down and eliminates the sag. After conditioning, the pack holds voltage under PTT load and TX power returns to normal.
Bar indicator showing one fewer bar than expected on a freshly charged F73001A
New Li-Polymer cells ship at roughly 3.6–3.7V — storage voltage, not full charge voltage. The E350 reads voltage thresholds to set the bar indicator, so a pack at storage voltage correctly displays one bar fewer than a fully charged cell. This is not a capacity fault. Seat the pack in the dock and run a complete charge to 4.2V per cell before drawing conclusions about indicator accuracy. After a full charge cycle, the bar indicator will read as expected.

Frequently Asked Questions
The E350 EChat cuts out completely when I press PTT — is the new battery tripping the BMS?
Yes, this is a BMS overcurrent trip caused by the transmit current spike when PTT opens a cellular voice session. New Li-Polymer cells at storage voltage have higher internal impedance, and the spike can briefly exceed the BMS overcurrent threshold before the cell has been cycled. Run two full charge-discharge cycles to condition the pack and lower cell impedance. After conditioning, PTT transmit current stays within the BMS window and the cutout stops.
The E350 dock charge LED has been blinking for hours and never clears to solid green — what's causing it?
A new pack shipped at storage voltage often sits below the dock's acceptance threshold, causing the charger to loop in a recovery attempt rather than entering the main charge phase. Remove the pack, wipe the gold contact strip with a dry cloth, and reseat firmly to ensure the BMS handshake completes. If the LED still blinks, leave the pack seated — the dock will complete a trickle pre-charge to bring the cell above the acceptance threshold, typically reaching 3.85V before switching to the main charge cycle.
After a full shift the E350 is still showing two bars, but the battery never seemed to drain — did I get a dud pack?
The E350 uses voltage-threshold bar indicators, not a fuel gauge chip. A pack that spent most of the shift on standby with minimal PTT activity will hold a high resting voltage and display two or more bars correctly — this is expected behaviour. Shallow PoC usage draws very little current compared to conventional LMR, so a 4000mAh pack will sustain multi-shift standby without significant voltage drop. To verify actual cell capacity, run the pack down through active PTT use and recharge fully; the bar indicator will track the full voltage curve across that cycle.
