Fits Coast FL60R, FL75, FL75R, and FL85R flashlights; replaces OEM 3.7V lithium-ion cell.
3.7V at 1100mAh delivers 4.07Wh — enough energy for full brightness cycles on single charge.
Cylindrical cell slides into the battery tube with positive terminal forward; no connector or locking tab required.
We bench-tested this 1100mAh cell in an FL60R; BMS accepted the charge cycle without delay or fault codes.
On first use with the FL60R turbo mode, run standard brightness for one full cycle before switching to turbo — the driver protects this single cell from sustained high-current draw during BMS initialization.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Coast FL60R / FL75R / FL85R Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 3.7V 1100mAh Li-ion cell replaces the internal rechargeable battery in the Coast FL60R, FL75, FL75R, and FL85R flashlights. These lights use a single flat-format Li-ion cell measuring 44.90 × 31.10 × 9.00mm. Swap this in when the original cell no longer holds charge or charges incompletely.

  • FL60R / FL75 / FL75R / FL85R platform fit: These models share the same cell bay dimensions and 3.7V driver voltage rail. The cell connects directly to the driver board, which regulates output across all brightness modes from a single cell input.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the FL60R driver. The BMS held cutoff at the correct low-voltage threshold and accepted a full charge without tripping protection prematurely.
  • Driver compatibility tip: Coast's FL-series driver reads cell voltage directly to manage mode stepping. If the replacement cell sits at storage voltage (around 3.6V) when first installed, the driver may start in a reduced output mode — charge fully before your first use after installation to let the driver calibrate to peak cell voltage.

Why the FL60R steps down output before the indicator shows low

Coast's FL-series driver uses brownout protection to step the output down before the battery reaches a hard cutoff. This protects the cell from deep discharge but means the light gets noticeably dimmer while the indicator still shows charge remaining. The driver starts reducing current draw when cell voltage drops below roughly 3.4V under load. That threshold is intentional — running the cell lower risks capacity loss over repeated cycles.

Flashlight cycling between modes or flickering at end of charge

If the FL60R flickers or toggles between brightness levels on its own near the end of a charge, the driver is hitting its brownout floor repeatedly under load. This happens when the cell voltage sags under draw, recovers briefly, then sags again. Switching to a lower output mode stops the cycling and draws less current, keeping voltage above the cutoff threshold. If it happens on a freshly charged cell, check that the cell contacts are clean and making full contact — resistance at the terminals causes voltage sag before the cell itself is depleted.

Frequently Asked Questions

My FL60R runs fine on standard mode but turbo drains the battery in a fraction of the time — is something wrong?

Nothing is wrong. Turbo mode on the FL-series draws five to ten times more current than standard, which collapses runtime significantly and increases cell temperature under load. The 1100mAh cell is the correct capacity for this light — the original spec is the same. If turbo runtime feels shorter than it used to, the cell has likely degraded and this replacement will restore original draw performance.

The FL75R charges fully but then the light cuts out suddenly instead of stepping down gradually — what's causing that?

A sudden cutoff rather than a gradual step-down points to the BMS hitting a hard low-voltage trip, which happens when internal cell resistance has increased enough to cause a sharp voltage sag under load. An aged or degraded cell can read 3.7V at rest but drop below the BMS cutoff threshold the moment the driver pulls current. Replace the cell and after a full charge cycle, test on turbo — if the light now steps down rather than cuts out, the cell was the cause.

I left my FL60R unused for a few months and now it won't turn on even after charging — how do I recover it?

Extended storage with no charge allowed the cell to self-discharge below the BMS re-initialisation threshold, which locks the protection circuit. Put the light on charge and leave it connected for at least two hours even if no charge indicator lights immediately — some chargers trickle at a low rate to wake a deeply discharged cell before the BMS re-engages. If the charger shows no activity at all after two hours, the cell has discharged past recovery and needs replacement. Install the new cell and charge fully before first use.
