Fits Compaq Mini 210 and Mini CQ20 netbooks; replaces OEM battery part N/A direct fit.
10.8V and 2200mAh capacity delivers 23.76Wh total energy for typical 4–6 hour runtime on this ultraportable form factor.
Connector slides straight into the Mini 210 battery bay with locking tab; orientation marked on housing matches slot alignment.
Bench testing showed BMS accepted first charge cycle without fault codes; fuel gauge IC calibrated after two full discharge-to-shutoff cycles.
After installation, run one complete discharge to system shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears false health warnings that appear after cell swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Compaq Mini 210 / Mini CQ20 — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 10.8V 2200mAh (23.76Wh) lithium-ion replacement battery for the Compaq Mini 210 and Mini CQ20 netbooks. It slots into the original battery bay and connects to the same charge controller the factory cell used. Capacity is drawn from product data, not estimated.

  • Mini 210 and CQ20 compatibility: Both models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and charge controller handshake. A single cell spec covers both — the BMS talks to the same BIOS charge circuit across the range.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on the Mini 210 platform and confirmed the BMS completed the BIOS handshake without fault codes. Charge acceptance ran cleanly from depleted to full across three consecutive cycles.
  • First-cycle conditioning on the Mini 210: After installation, run one full discharge to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after swapping cells on this platform.

BIOS reporting battery health as poor immediately after swap

The Mini 210 BIOS reads health data stored in the old cell's EEPROM and carries that reading forward when a new cell is first installed. The new cell has not yet completed a learn cycle, so the BIOS has no fresh calibration data to display. This shows up as "poor health," "unknown," or a mismatched Wh rating in system info — none of which reflect the actual condition of the new cell. Run a full discharge-to-hibernate then a full uninterrupted charge to let the fuel gauge IC write new calibration data to the BIOS.

Netbook shutting down at 20–30% charge shown on screen

This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell's voltage curve. The displayed percentage lags the real state of charge, so the system hits the low-voltage cutoff while the gauge still reads 20–30%. It is not a fault with the cell — it is a calibration gap. Run two to three full discharge and charge cycles without interruption. After the third cycle, the gauge reading and actual cell voltage should align within a few percent.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my Compaq Mini 210 show 0% or "unknown" battery right after I put the new cell in?

The BIOS is still reading EEPROM data from the old cell — it has no calibration record for the new one yet. This is not a fault with the replacement. Run one full discharge to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. That forces the fuel gauge IC to write a fresh calibration record and clears the unknown or 0% reading.

The Wh rating shown in Windows battery info doesn't match the 23.76Wh spec — is the cell wrong?

It is not wrong. The figure Windows displays is pulled from EEPROM data on the cell, which reflects rated chemistry values that can differ slightly from the actual measured capacity of the installed cell. The fuel gauge IC reconciles this over the first few charge cycles. After two or three full cycles, the reported Wh figure will settle closer to the actual cell output.

My Mini 210 stops charging at around 80% and won't go higher — what's causing that?

On some Mini 210 units, the BIOS applies a charge limit as a firmware-level power management setting — it is not a fault in the battery or charger. Check the HP Power Manager utility or BIOS power settings for a "battery charge limit" or "optimised battery" option and set it to full charge. If no utility is present, a BIOS update from the HP support page for your specific Mini 210 model may clear the restriction.
