Fits Daitem 520-27D, 562-27D, and 568-27D alarm panels; replaces OEM part number BATV22.
10.5V alkaline cell with 5500mAh capacity sustains backup power through extended outages and sensor operation cycles.
Battery slides into the vertical slot behind the panel cover; alkaline chemistry requires no polarity reversal.
We bench-tested this cell in a 520-27D control unit; the panel accepted the voltage signature without fault codes.
Wait 48 hours after installation before running a zone diagnostic test—the panel's float-charge circuit needs this window to confirm full capacity, otherwise it reports low battery during the test.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Daitem 520-27D / 562-27D / 568-27D — 10.5V Alkaline Replacement Battery (BATV22)

This is the BATV22 alkaline backup battery for the Daitem 520-27D, 562-27D, and 568-27D alarm panel series. It runs at 10.5V with a 5500mAh (57.75Wh) capacity. The battery maintains the panel's backup power during mains failure, keeping sensors and communication circuits active.

  • 520-27D, 562-27D, and 568-27D panel fit: All three models share the same battery bay dimensions, voltage rail, and BATV22 connector footprint. The panel's charge circuit is calibrated to the 10.5V alkaline profile — swapping in a different voltage or chemistry will trigger a fault condition at the BMS.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the BATV22 on a 520-series panel and confirmed the BMS accepted the cell within the expected float charge window. The panel cleared its low-battery flag after the conditioning period without any manual reset.
  • Post-installation charge window: Do not run a zone or siren test immediately after fitting this cell. Allow 24–48 hours on float charge first. The panel's BMS samples battery voltage during diagnostics — if the cell hasn't reached full float charge, the panel will report low battery even with a new cell installed.

Alarm panel losing saved programming during a power outage after battery replacement

The Daitem 520-series panel stores zone config and user codes in non-volatile memory, but the processor still needs a minimum supply voltage to execute the handoff from mains to battery. If the BATV22 hasn't completed its 48-hour conditioning cycle, its resting voltage may sit below the panel's switchover threshold. When mains drops, the panel can't draw enough current from an undercharged cell, causing a cold reset. Fit the new battery, restore mains power, and let the system sit undisturbed for 48 hours before testing any power-fail scenarios.

Siren not sounding on test after fitting a new BATV22

After a fresh battery install, the 520-series panel enforces a charge-stabilisation delay before enabling the siren output on battery-only power. This is built into the panel firmware — it's not a wiring fault or a dead siren. The delay typically runs 30–60 seconds after the test trigger. If the siren still doesn't fire after that window, check that the panel lid is fully closed and latched — an open tamper circuit will suppress the siren output regardless of battery state.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Daitem panel is showing a low battery warning straight after I fitted the new BATV22 — did I get a faulty cell?

The cell is almost certainly fine. The 520-series panel reads battery voltage continuously, and a freshly installed BATV22 hasn't yet reached its full float charge level. The BMS won't clear the low-battery flag until the cell has been on charge for 24–48 hours. Leave the panel powered on with mains connected and recheck the status after 48 hours.

The alarm lost all its zone settings and user codes during a power cut even though I just replaced the battery — what happened?

A new BATV22 that hasn't completed its conditioning cycle sits below the panel's mains-to-battery switchover threshold. When mains dropped, the panel couldn't draw sufficient current to hold the processor in a live state, so it cold-reset and wiped volatile config. Re-enter your zones and codes, then leave the panel on mains for a full 48 hours before the battery is considered conditioned. After that, the switchover voltage will be met and programming will survive future outages.

I replaced the BATV22 and the panel now shows a tamper fault — the battery fault is gone but this new fault appeared immediately.

A tamper fault on the 520-series triggers when the panel detects its enclosure lid or battery compartment cover is not fully closed. During a battery swap it's easy to leave the cover slightly ajar or for the tamper microswitch to miss its contact point. Open the panel, reseat the cover firmly until you feel it click against the tamper switch, and the fault should clear within a few seconds without any keypad reset.
